Mr. Rick has only had 16 of his last 35 signees stay till their eligibility runs out. Jamont didn't graduate he left after his junior year and went undrafted.

Ervin started at Arkansas and was a 4*<div>Sharpe got drafted in 2nd round</div><div>Goodridge - another 4* & rated #4 center out of high school
Reg Delk - played 20 m/game at Louisville hissenioryear
Richard Delk - could have been a roll player. Played 20 m/game for us Fr/So year
Long & Gardner both could have been great for us this year</div>

Everyone hated Ervin. And he was average at best for Arky. Sharpe eventually got shot in the godamned stomach. Are you really going to sit here and tell me that you wanted him to stay? Goodridge sucked, aside from that overtime win against KY in the SEC tourny. I could care less what he was rated. I said Delk was good. You have no idea, and neither do I, if Long or Gardner would have been good, hence the non-factor tag. My guess is no, because until we signed them, not a single person on this board even knew who they were.

Robert Jackson was voted off of the team by the players.

Guys like Reggie Delk, Romero Osby, Hansbrough, etc. leaving are something that is totally ok to be upset about.<div>
</div><div>Guys like Bernard Rimmer, Jerrell Houston, Richard Delk, Jacquisce Holcomb, Twanny, etc leaving are not worth being upset about because they left over a lack of playing time.</div>

The Delks left because daddy and momma said they needed to play more. They were not going to and neither did that much after they left. Osby left for the reason he knew he was not going to play much either with Ravern, Kodi, and any new signees coming in. Let's be honest, would you play him over Hood right now? Hansborough was the only player that our staff hated to lose. Anybody that doesn't think his daddy didn't have a lot to do with that has never talked to our players or staff. Sharp, and some of the others including Ervin were basically run off. Easy to try and turn this into the usual Stans bashing on this board but I would say we have brought 3 more good ones in Power, Roberts, and Moultrie, than any of those who are gone other than Hansborough.

I saw about 30 seconds of one of their games a few weeks ago, just enough to see Osby drive from the perimeter unassisted, beat two guys and dunk. This to me says a lot about Stansbury's lack of player development.

I think you mean "more gooder" there...

"these guys were non-factors"

No, those guys would've been role players. Teams need superstars, but they also need guys who know their role and do the dirty work. Teams need four year guys. More often than not, team leaders aren't the guys who get the press, but the guys who've been in the program and lead by example off the court.

Think about a team like Memphis...the year they went to the national championship game, they had Derrick Rose as the superstar, but they had role players like Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier. Fast forward to now, when they have a team full of prima donnas and they can't get seem to get out of their own way, despite having better talent than 95% of the teams out there.

Recruiting is important. But stability within the program is important too, for a lot of reasons that aren't apparent to casual observers.

you think they'd be taking minutes away from Hood, Bryant, Lewis, or Steele? maybe i'm misinterpreting your use of the word "great".

I mean, for your argument...

Yes, I would love for us to have 4* role players that are wanted by the NC States, UGAs and Miamis of the world... Anderson didn't get that many offers b/c he was a worldclass Calipari "placement" at the Laurinberg School that the NCAA stopped accepting players from shortly thereafter

I am absolutely not a Stans apologist, but most of the transfers were not going to make or break us. Hans, the Delks, and Osby. That's it. Show me another program that doesn't lose players. <div>
</div><div>And for the record, I am more on the side of replacing Stans than not, but Jesus Christ, this mob mentality is retarded.</div>

The players that we recruit have unrealistic expectations of what their role will be when they arrive on campus. I think our recruiting strategy and the subsequent transfers are indicative of the problems which plague this basketball program. Its great to close on the talented guys but I can understand having some animosity experiencing a complete 180 when they arrive on campus. It creates a lack of trust and disgust with the leadership which we have seen show up on the court.

was an average starting player at UTEP as a sophomore, but developed in his transfer year into an SEC player of the year candidate under Stansbury tell you about player development here. Tells me it is very possible if the player is open to it.

How does our transfer rate compare to other schools around the country?

Compared to say: Washington

I looked, but could not find an answer.
