they should watch ESPN 30 for 30 on "The U". Forty year old sumbitches that bag groceries for a living and never played a down of NFL football talking about how they were twice the athlete as Deion Sanders from FSU.

I hope this is true, i.e. that they were turned off. Frankly, I don't give a flying rat's *** why they didn't hire him. I'm glad he is here. He is proving that he knows football and knows what it will take to win here. Personally, I kind of hope his ego is that big b/c it might take that kind of attitude to overcome some of the inherent obstacles to make MSU into a consistent winner.

nobody to stir up some **** and give the U a face for a change, somebody that likes to run his mouth and then walks the walk.

All my friends knew it too.

She wouldn't hardly speak to me. She just totally shut me down.

My friends asked how it went. "Man, that ***** is stuck-up, thinking she's beautiful. !%#! that *****, she's not as hot as she thinks she is."

Not saying it's the same situation, but it could be.

Spurrier, Saban, Richt, Tubberville, Miles, Meyer. After they've gasped at what huge egos they have they can count their NC rings.

You made a great choice. Dan is an *******. We hate him. Tell all your friends.

Yeah, the U made a great hire. I know I get fired up when I listen to the subdued tones of Al Golden. They need to shut-up and go back to being in the middle-of-the-pack in the ACC. We went the "no ego" route with Croom and that turned out to be all kinds of fun. Good luck Canes...or as I will now call them the Golden Girls.

want a head coach that didn't have a big ego? Maybe this is what Miami's problem has been the last few years.

according to "THE U" documentary (disclaimer: the source of 90% of my Hurricanes football knowledge, the other 10% from here) their last few coaches (Shannon, Coker, Davis) have beenenormousdisappointments due basically to lack of swagger, game, that certain je ne sais quoi, you know....EGO!
Pick a side here people!

at any rate I agree with the sour grapes thing not to mention he may have pissed em off by saying they were in a lousy conference .... he could have said almost anything and those guys would still be pissed ... I don't see turning Dan down for Al Golden on your own

Great read. They seen then that Mullen was head and shoulders on (thinking and doing) than anyone of them and he would let them know about it

After the bend-over-and-grab-the-ankles mentality of LT that was pervasive over the years inside MSU athletics, it's time to turn over a new leaf. I was sick and tired of projected weakness.
How can any trustee evaluate what has happened to our football program in 2 years and come away unimpressed? I'll say this. I'll take these days over the darkness we endured the past 8 years ego or not.

Last I heard him talk, Jimmy Johnson had a pretty big ego - and if I remember correctly he had a little success to the U!

Mullen is a big dickhead. He's really arrogant and most of our coaches didnt like him when he first showed up and started doing things his way instead of the "way things are done around here".

I think it worked out pretty well

but the difference in my demeanor when I'm talking to someone about a job I want/need and a job I don't really want and don't at all need are completely different. I think they expected Dan to come at them hat-in-hand thrilled to have the opportunity to be considered for the Miami job. When that didn't happen this guy obviously got all butt-hurt about it.

Never in a million years would I have thought guys earning 1-5 million dollars a year would have big egos. Wonders never cease.

He didn't invent the game... he just reinvented it. No big deal.

I don't know about yall, but I love having a coach who runs his mouth and acts like a bad ***. That's why I was such a big fan of Sherrill. He was the meanest mofo in Starkville back in the day. He was just pure mean. But he cared about his players and he won games.

It's like having that one friend everyone has with a really bad temper: He's the guy you love to hang out with but wouldn't cross, because the dude acts like he's on 'roids and consistently gets in fights.... and wins.

Mullen runs his mouth and might have a little bit of an ego, but it's what every coach in this league has in common. They're the best, and they know it. There's different levels, and Mullen's near to the top, but it's something Croom was missing. He'd be the first one to tell you all 11 other coaches were better. Mullen will be the first to tell you he's the best, and he'll give you reasons to think it too. [Insert comment about him talking smack to Saban at media days]

reading all the articles today about Will Muschamp andthe 'passion' he brings to the gator program ... then reading this BS. Florida writers can't get enough of his 'new attitude' and are reporting that Mullen has an EGO. Give me a break. They BOTH know that they can win. Mullen has proved it.
