Conflicting reports all over the place. ESPN is reporting that Penn State hasn't offered the job to anyone yet and may not until Saturday.

We're seeing a trend of northern schools hiring people with success in the south. Franklin will continue to recruit the same area he was recruiting at Vandy and he'll have more success getting them... And those kids wouldn't otherwise go to Penn State had he not been at Vandy.

Arkansas on the other hand did the exact opposite AND overpaid by a cool $2 mil.

I remember a couple of years ago when everybody was mentioning Mullen's name for various job openings. Now, seems as if no one mentions him. Guess they have noted our record against the upper tier teams of the SEC. Maybe after next year, we will have to again be concerned about him leaving.

This is what I mean by conflicting reports. Within 20 minutes ESPN reports that there has been no formal offer and that Franklin has been offered. I guess technically, your story doesn't say that there has been a formal offer, just that Franklin is expected to take an offer to become Penn State's new coach.

The sports guy at WAPT was reporting back in 2010 it was FACT Mullen to Penn St.

Ray Coleman is the guy...I think he got his info on the black bear network.

Ray Coleman is terrible. WAPT used to have great sports when Chris Steckel and Brittany Diehl were there. But Coleman and Hodges are just painful to watch.

We will curb stomp them this fall with or without Franklin. They lose 13 starters, including all their best players.

Franklin is from Pennsylvania and played college ball at a small Pennsylvania school, so it kind of makes sense.
