It would be huge if we could have him in the middle of the lineup next year. It looked like the Dodgers were making a push, but maybe their offer wasn't good enough?
Per Genes page, it's now more likely that Conner Powers returns next year.

Great News! However I don't give a **** about what is said on Gene's page. If I wanted to know I would waste my time over there. So why not just post the rumor with out any regards to Gene's page. I don't go there, I don't want to go there and from what I hear Gene is a ******!
A couple of weeks ago he was saying that the Dodgers were making a push and that he was leaning towards signing.
My interpretation- Gene doesn't know what Conner Powers is going to do. I think he's simply covering his ***. He has learned from the Buckles will be a Bulldog debacle. I think he assumed that Powers was going to sign, and then all of a sudden Cohen tells him in an interview that Conner is 50/50 and Gene gets shocked.
Here's what's going to happen- the Dodgers are going to make a late push to sign him on the deadline. I guarantee it. An 11th round pick is a pretty high pick to waste. If Powers likes their final offer, he'll sign, if he doesn't, he'll go back to MSU. That's the bottom line here, and there's nothing more to it. Everything else between now and then is pure conjecture.
I'll say this about Cohen- he has had some guys that have come back for their senior seasons when he was at UK. I don't know if he tries to talk the players into coming back or what, but maybe there's something to it.
