According to Google maps - Tupelo to Norman - 8 hours 53 minutes and 587 miles, Tupelo to Gainesville - 9 hours 42 minutes and 611 miles.

when you consider traveling to a viable cost effective airport (Memphis) and waiting there, and then flying to Ok City, and then driving 20 miles to Norman.

Not disputing the google maps numbers, but I can be in Gainesville from Tupelo in about 8 hours.

According to map quest Tupelo to Gainesville is 553.92 miles

Tupelo to Norman, OK is 580.66 miles
