Nutt, Boone at Khayat are meeting at the IPF this morning. Supposedly, per the Ole Miss blog on the Cledge, Boone wasn't happy when he walked out Houston's office and a reporter was there.

I think we lost the use of Dicky Scruggs jet when he went to jail. Looks like we may need it after all. I'm going to head over that way at lunch, see what I can see.

"Houston, Pat and I would like to sit down and have a talk this morning."

"No thanks."

"BUT, we want to sit down and have a talk in the IPF this morning."

"Oh, well in that case...."

If Boone was ticked, that's probably a good thing, as it probably means we've been discussing raises and changes in the way we're going to spend money on the football program.

If they had a meeting for Nutt to tell them he was leaving, then Boone would've come out all smiles knowing he was looking at a $3M buyout coming his way, and knowing he could go out and hire a lesser coach for half the money to save cash.

I'm half joking, but sadly, that wouldn't surprise me with Boone.

Nothing would please me more than to see "Their Savior" of a coach get fired after their first good season in years...

It is true that Boone and Nutt hate each other.

They may not like each other, but there is no way in hell Boone could fire Nutt. Nutt may be able to get rid of Boone though.

<font size="2">A morning at the IPF finally produced a phone conversation with one Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt. I asked him point blank about the Auburn job and he said "It's just rumors. That's all it is. I've had absolutely no contact with Auburn." He also said Auburn has not talked with his agent Jimmy Sexton.</font></p>

<font size="2"> </font><font size="2">Nutt went on to say he was focused on recruiting and getting ready for a bowl game. I asked him what the meeting this morning between he, AD Pete Boone ad chancellor Robert Khayat was about and he said "It was a standard meeting that we have after the season, discussing the direction of the program and facilities and things like that."</font></p>

<font size="2"> </font><font size="2">Then I asked how his relationship was going with Boone this season and here's his answer: "It's been very, very good. No problems."</font></p>

<font size="2"> </font><font size="2">And one more time - Me: So there's been no contact with Auburn? Nutt: "None at all." </font></p>

It's pretty much like heaven. It's probably the best in the entire world. Nothing will ever compete with it. Ever.

Typical situation where your name gets mentioned somewhere else and you head straight into contract negotiations.

Therefore, any coaches being considered by Auburn (or Miss State) can honestly say they have not been contacted by the University.

Nutt has been contacted.
