I would be more for it if it wasn't in Anaheim. Maybe like Coaches vs Cancer or something like that.

This is basically a road game. I am not in favor of this at all, unless there is more to it, like perhaps a game next year at a truly neutral site, or something.

Maybe ucla will have a rival school there that we can teach the fight song too like we tried to do with unc when we played duke in the tourney

I would be more for it if it were in a truly neutral location, like, New York or Tampa. We're basically playing them at home with no return game.

...Stans and Peaches.

Seriously, our RPI will likely go up win or lose, and if we were to win, it would be huge on our resume and for our seeding. Plus, it's against an NCAA tournament type team in an NCAA type setting. It can't do anything but help our team.

i'm sure it'll be a nationally televised game. maybe CBS will carry it. good exposure, and i guess we were going to have to essentially play a road game to get a game like this. it's at least a step in the right direction. didn't mich st play unc and/or uk at ford field this year and last year? were there return games in that series?

Yes we do lose a home game, but we do get a definate RPI boost by replacing Gardner Webb with UCLA. This is supposed to be our year as well, so I see nothing wrong with this team going out west in a hostile enviornment against a high profile program to get some experience in that type of environment.

the debate on the board is whether or not they can make the tournament. The consensus is that they will - but that debate is far from will UCLA make the Final Four? Its a winnable game for us, even if we were playing at Pauley. The L.A. schools do not have tremendous fan support like some think.

We have a team that can beat UCLA so why not? As stated earlier, these West Coast college basketball fans are not like the ones at Duke, North Carolina, Indiana, or even Memphis. It won't be that big of a home court advantage. Win or lose the RPI will go up in the long run as a result unless UCLA totally sucks next year.

And it's close to being the LA equivalent of Dawgstudent's wanting to play Memphis at the Pyramid.1</p>

Who cares where we play, especially if we win and next year we can... UCLA will be down next year and if we get Sidney then look out west coast...
Might be a good game for a road trip..

********. We should be favored, with or without Sidney.

at least not to the point to where a Stansbury coached team can come into their house (practically), at the beginning of the season, and beat them. take a look at their recruiting lists. they have like 10 sidneys

To everyone who understands basketball anyway. I am sorry that many of you won't get to witness a 30 point thumping of Gardner Webb that day.

I don't care if we play them in Pauley, playing UCLA even in a down year, is a marquee game. When we plaed Arizona in this tournament the games were on WGN of all channels. I bet this matchup has a little better TV coverage.

They have one 5 star, two 4 and a 3. We have one 5 star, one 4, one 2, and a 2 star.
Plus our whole team is back from last year, UCLA is losing a few players I do believe.

This can be nothing but good. As stated earlier we increase RPI win or lose. Plus this is a game we can win and if we win this one in Annaheim it will snowball some great attention and press from the mothership and the others.

Great job

although I'd rather just play them on their home court if we're going to do it in LA. But, with it being the Wooden Classic and all, it's understandable why this is the "neutral" site game. Hopefully it gets picked up for a national broadcast, but that's no guarantee. Very winnable game for the Dogs.

Revenge for 1995 will be ours.

it will keep the rowdy students from being at the game, or at least lessen the amount that would be there at an actual home game. I'm pretty sure we will be ranked higher than them going into this game, so I'm happy with this addition. I wish we would do this every year, hopefully we can win and gain some respect and get teams like this to do a home and home with us.
