Is he still stuck in the Arkansas mind frame where they can play instate foes with little challege or consequence? There is a difference between Arkansas who dominates the state as far as recruiting and MS where , as Greg Byrne put it "Playing USM is a lose-lose situation." Especially when it comes to effect it could have on recruiting. </p>

Nelson Hurst will be the starting TE this weekend and that Green (pelvis) probably will not play.

chancellor (i wonder who pissed him off?) so I don't think it would matter and Ark. State is arguably the best team in that state right now.

And tell USM to either restructure the deal or shut the !$$* up.

The CL failed by comparing a possible USM deal, which as they've always clamored for, would be a 1-and-1, with one-off games played only in Oxford/Starkville.

The whole issue is that USM doesn't want to be treated like a ULM or Samford.

Khayat tear today, but if he said that, it just goes to prove that he is a pompous *** and that he is an idiot. I don't think it makes since that any University chancellor or president is an idiot. But, damn, what other conclusion can you reach?

I mean, as a Chancellor of a university, you would draw a line in the sand between your job and an athletic competition? Why not refer the question to the AD, who has been already told that the game is not going to happen? I mean, if he is arrogant and smart, you tell whoever that you hire an AD to answer questions like that and walk off.

Open mouth. Spew out stupid ****. Leave mouth open so as to attract flies.

I can't agree with everything Khayat has done, but he's been the chancellor of the school for probably the best period in the school's history as far as making advances academically and making strides in the way the school is viewed nationally. We're never going to be a Harvard (I know, I know), but he's just about maxed out our potential and has done a lot of great things for the school as a whole.

I think he can be somewhat of a micromanager at times, but I also think that part of him has contributed to a lot of what he's been able to accomplish while at Ole Miss.

there does seem to be a disconnect between him and boone (also rumored during the O hire). In the same article, boone says he will "never say never" and handled the question like byrne.

I would just post the picture with "oh no, not this **** again!" if I felt like learning how.

Or the dead horse, whichever.

Sounds like a competitor. I am sick and tired of the "we have too much to lose and nothing to gain" argument. It is a natural rivalry. For that reason, we have much to lose, but also much to gain, most notably bragging rights. Also, anybody noticed how effectively we are recruiting the coast in the last decade? We don't have much to lose in that part of the state. When we started doing home and homes with LaTech and MTSU, the last logical argument not to play them evaporated. Now, there's only one reason. We're scared to get beat.

If someone in his position is asked that question by someone in the media, the intelligent response is "I would not be opposed to playing Team X." That way you don't look like an ******* for telling Southern to get bent but you imply that there are several other teams you would consider first. The last thing you want to do is start (another) shitstorm of USM people crying about having to play Valley or someone else.
