Perez Waiver Denied

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (December 16, 2022) – The waiver for immediate eligibility for West Virginia University men’s basketball student-athlete Jose Perez has been denied by the NCAA, coach Bob Huggins announced today.

Perez, a 6-foot-5 guard from the Bronx, New York, transferred from Manhattan and enrolled at WVU in November for the spring semester.

He is eligible to start practicing with the Mountaineers on Dec. 17.

“We are disappointed by the news that we received this afternoon from the NCAA,” Huggins said. “All of Mountaineer Basketball is hurting for Jose. We plan to appeal this decision.”

If this were Kansas or Kentucky they would have approved him and driven him to his first practice. ********.

The NCAA… Sandusky RAPES KIDS AND PSU GETS A SLAP ON THE WRIST! SEAN MARTIN, BILL SELF AND COACH K are all guilty as hell. Teams offer money via NIL and tamper with all pot players. Nothing.

BUT THIS SORRY *** GROUP SHOWS UP ON THE MOST IDIOTIC CIRCUMSTANCES.

Who is Jalen Bridges?

Edit: You mean the player averaging 20 minutes per game, shooting 17% from three, and 9 ppg? He definitely improved his situation.

So does this mean Perez is not eligible until January? Or not at all this year?

NCAA allows transfer portal. They allow coaches to manipulate and tamper (ex Deion), but this Perez situation is “not allowed”???

He can't play until the 23-24 season unless an appeal can reverse the decision. From what I have read, it is Manhattan College that is not willing to grant the approval. The same admin that fired his coach a few days before the season started.

All Perez needs to do is that he feels like he was "unsafe" as a POC at Manhattan. This gets resolved in 3 hours.

When a coach is fired you're suppose to be able to transfer and play without issue.
