Not always possible in our local towns, but I will always try to keep from giving my money to any business that is owned by State fans or supporters.".......I **** you not, that was posted on their premium board on the thread about the I-55 billboard. I despise Ole Miss, but to say that I would specifically stay away from a business just because I knew it was owned by Ole Miss alumni would be nothing short of childish. Sometimes I don't actually believe that the people who post on that board are actually people. It's difficult to describe. Basically my best way to do so would be to say I have never met someone that delusional in person.</span>

At our current status and momentum as a University, by all means let them go ahead to no avail. Some of the biggest Bear Homers I've had to interact with over the past decade have recently gone MIA because they are having difficulty spinning anything that has happened recently in their favor. When is the last time we as a University, Football Program, and Fan-base been able to completely shut them up and leave their only options to provoke us is by boycotting MSU Alumnus owned businesses?

But I can't say I've ever not done business with someone because of Ole Miss ties.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. I guess he doesn't have any animals or own any land in MS.

What am I saying, that guy probably means he looks for Ole Miss shirts on the cashiers at Wal-Mart.

Edit: Well, I don't do business with ********. If the correlation between Ole Miss ties and ******* is there, that's not my fault.

Not because they're run by Ole Miss fans, but because after going to their UM themed restaurant in Oxford, I realized they were being total d-bags by making the one in Starkville "SEC themed." I guarantee you if I ran a business in Oxford that catered to UM it would be decorated in Blue and Red and Black. I don't care about other places owned by Ole Miss alums.<div>

Add that to the list of places I'd have never set foot in had Starkville had the restaurants from circa '98 - '02 that it does now.

Is Rosey Baby's even still open?

I've never thought it was worth going to. And I'm assuming the one in Oxford serves the same food as the one in Starkville. Does Oxford not have a Zaxby's or anything else that serves chicken tenders?

Don't be hating just because the green beans tasted like Clorox. Just get double mashed potatoes.

I think after 2001 I didn't eat another chicken tender until I graduated. But the sheer level of douchiness displayed between the Oxford and Starkville locations made me never wanting to eat there again.

...definitely not comparable to early-era McAlister's Deli for example.1

________
1Over the past couple years or so, I've become ever-so-slightly disenchanted with McAlister's. I'm not saying that I don't like McAlister's; only that it just doesn't seem to be as good as it once was.

My wife loves it. Maybe we're boring people with boring tastes, but the lack of menu variety doesn't bother me a bit.
It does tend to have a lot of variance in quality, though, especially in the toast and slaw, which I don't understand.

Last time I ate at the Abners in Starkville, I got sick and have never been back.
It's even more reason not to go back reading your comments here.
I don't mind dealing with black bear people up here. I prefer them to others mostly because we're all from MS. Haven't had a bad experience yet, but the vitriol tends to go away the further you get from MS. We all seem to appreciate being from the same place. I imagine it's worse down there though.
Isn't McAllister's a black bear-owned joint? Maybe someone can educate me on the history between them and the Bulldog Deli.

place in styrofoam container until heat from chicken turns them into mashed potatoes.

I do like Abner's sauce however, and that's really what makes a chicken tender...the sauce. Oh how I miss Dave's Darkhorse and the greatest honey mustard ever made.

Yep, Oxford has a Zaxby's. On West Jackson. Oxford has two Abners, btw. I agree with the below poster about not making the Starkville restaurant MSU themed. Pretty petty.

The Oxford Oby's, while not designed exactly like Starkville's, has reb stuff everywhere, posters of all their sports at the counter, etc. And, get this, it's co-owned by an MSU guy.

I will always go to Bulldog Deli over McAlisters due to the State/OM thing. That's the only time I have let my allegiance get in the way when it comes to giving a place business that I can think of though. Not to mention I think Bulldog Deli is better. </p>

...and the Deli guy got out at some point.Newcomb franchised McAlister'sinto a huge chainand made a mint when he sold it all. That could be wrong...just going off rumors I heard along the way. Several people seemed convinced the Deli guy was involved at some point.

...thenNewcomb opened Newk's when the non-compete ran out.

I won't pretend I know it all as fact.

Sweet Peppers is the same asBulldog Deli to answer the other question.

That's the dumbest **** I've ever read. I'm a Black Rebel Bear through and through, but I'd have an entire room in my house reserved for storing MSU cheese and chocolate chip cookies if my wife would let me.

They had a poster of full size poster of Eli up right after he graduated. Alongside the full size posters of Favre, Rice, Payton.<div>
</div><div>Years later he of course got the Super Bowl win and MIGHT make an argument several years from now to be one of the greats from Mississippi. Maybe.</div><div>
</div><div>But to do that just because they favor a team said a lot about the owners and I am somewhat glad they had to shut down that location.</div>

just another reason to justify my hate of stupid bear fans.I would go out of my way to do business with msu alum though. In madison county go to Iupe's for shirts and atheltic stuff and trace grill for good eats. both owned and operated by msu guys.
