No idea. But my guess is they would go after an established successful head coach from another conference. ETA: Looking at his record on Wikipedia, the last 5 years have been pretty brutal. Really, other than his 3 CWS teams, his whole record has been pretty unimpressive. What is it about UGA that they always seem to have a few great years that spring out of nowhere.

HS baseball in Georgia is some of the best in the country. That state produces way too much talent for UGA to suck so bad.

Dave Djorn's (Ark's pitching coach) name seems to be popping up alot. I would be perfectly fine with that.

Mercer has a pretty good program. I don't know anything about their head coach, but I'd at least take a look in that direction if I was UGA. South Alabama and Troy are other nearby programs that are currently competing at a high level.

No way

Butch gets the job. I doubt he even gets a look, considering how bad he is (according to a few sps'ers)...bring your anti"meme" ****, clown

Would not surprise me one bit if they went after Butch. Cohen's not going

anywhere soon and Butch has been there before, knows the State, etc. Eventhough Butch was named the associate head coach, it's just a title. I would be looking at Coastal Carolina coach Gary Gilmore.

Smart money would be on Dan McDonnell, but I think that would be a hard pull for anyone to get him out of Louisville. They are making a big financial commitment to winning up there. Plus he's a NY guy, has no real ties to the South.

McDonnell has already turned Auburn down. He's a very loyal guy and he is grateful to Louisville for giving him his first head coaching job. Plus, Louisville is probably a better job anyway with the move to the ACC.

I would be shocked if Cohen was considered. If he is, I would be even more surprised if he entertains an offer. The guy loves MSU and have heard this is his dream job. Unless grasshopper isn't keeping him happy, he will be our coach as long as he's winning.

I imagine they will go after an established coach at a mid major or smaller D1 school. Georgia has a ton of potential to sell about their program. They really are a sleeping giant.

I think he was saying that since Cohen isn't going anywhere, there's no room hare for Butch to become a head coach, even though he has the associate head coach title. So if he wants to move up, he would have to leave.
