Likely to be the first or second guard off the bench for Ole Miss, good for him, hope that he is successful there except for when he's matching up against the Cats.
If he doesn't embrace playing hard-nosed lock down defense, his minutes may be limited at Ole Miss under Beard as well.
I wish him luck.
Ten years after playing at Ole Miss he will be referred to as "hey bud, can you hold that door?" When he attends Ole Miss events. At UK, he would be a legend. He was going to maybe play 3 minutes a game here. Don’t know why so many of you think he won’t play much more at Ole Miss than he would have here.
We naturally lean on money as a motivator, and it probably is to an extent, but I do have an honest question in regards to NIL and guys on his level:
Just how much money can he reasonably fetch? Reason I’m asking is that there has to be a cap on what he’s worth and I wouldn’t think the floor and ceiling for his NIL value are only so far apart (no offense to him, of course). I can’t see a school paying hundreds of thousands, so we would be talking in the tens of thousands difference, perhaps?
That may be true with younger generations.Ehh, most fans wouldn't even recognize Polson, Hawkins or Derek Willis, (I honestly just had to look his name up) if they passed them on the street. Polson even played on a title team. The days of local athletes being legends has long passed aside from being a Davis/Wall or Cousins type and they weren'tin state players. Aside from Reed being a legacy, he would be in a similar boat. After the Arkansas shirt, he may end up that way as well.
Lighten up on Drew he is still reeling from the caitlyn Clark injury I understand DrewWhy would you hope he fails
Jones hinted at 7 figures.
I agree, not sure how big the benefit will be for him there but wish him the best.I'm sure he will be higher n the rotation there than 13th.
I agree he won't play much overall though. His D is too atrocious.
*** Kew more like it. Wow, he avg those #'s at perennial power Long Beach St.He has ended up great
Not all time great though
19/5/5 is right there
If that doesn't tell you our system is broken.Jones hinted at 7 figures.
He put up those numbers at a ****** low level school. He also played in 34 games, started 3 and averaged 15mpg. So, it certainly looks like Beard provided the opportunity.
So, you kind of proved my point.
No it was on a ****** Cal team. That was at Texas, under Beard.
He average 2 points a game at Texas. That was at Texas, under Beard.
That was at Texas, under Beard.
I could see Perry getting a 3yr NIL package offer of say 1.5m
I would be SHOCKED if he makes more than $250,000 per year for the next 3 years at Ole Miss.Jones hinted at 7 figures.
Gonna agree with Drew on this one. What happened to the day where people hunkered down, put in the work, and got better.Sports is about rooting for your team and rooting against the other team. Not that hard to understand. Quit being snowflakes
Something tells me Travis may play alot there . Miss had a guard there that played a similar role that Travis will make no bones about Travis will see the floor alotHe won't play much more there. It has to be about more money because that's the only thing that makes sense.
Well I hope Perry gets that many minutes because the SEC will destroy him and Ole Miss will be terrible. Not, that was on the Texas team. Look it up.
My bet is you're confusing MPG with PPG.
He didn't even play 34 games total at Cal. Lol.
Jones hinted at 7 figures.
Nobody has any clue what they are making. Furthermore, people seem oddly infatuated with the amounts. For guys like Perry? My mind can’t comprehend that level of overpayment. Again, no offense to him. I just can’t see that amount of value brought to the program financially.
Well I hope Perry gets that many minutes because the SEC will destroy him and Ole Miss will be terrible.
Rooting for your team isn't the same thing as hoping an INDIVIDUAL not on the team fails.Sports is about rooting for your team and rooting against the other team. Not that hard to understand. Quit being snowflakes
I am not surprised at all honestly. Recruited out of High School and Beard obviously really likes him. He watched him play in the SEC a lot I’m sure so he must think he can have a roll. I doubt he will start or even be a first guard off the bench but who knows. I hope he plays well unless it’s against us. I’d love to have him back his senior year at least. Especially if he become a solid contributor at the SEC level. He showed flashes, but he just needs to prove he can defend.I do not see what he has gained. He knows his situation better than I do.
