I’ll try to find it. Was an interview that popped up on my feed. He didn’t say anything crazy just pretty much imo saying the culture at Kentucky is still the Calapari way when I feel like Pope is UK first. Kind of felt like a shot at Pope. Wasn’t much to it tho.
Travis is a Kentucky high school legend. I’ll be rooting for him to do well at Ole Miss.

He took Ole Miss to the Sweet 16 last season. Pay attention. He also went 30-5 at Little Rock, and won the first round tournament game. You can’t lose credibility if you never had any but if you did, you’d lose it all. Your logic made me laugh out loud before I go into work this morning and I never laugh when I’m heading to work.
To sum up what he said was basically ole miss players care about the team first and the team goal and nobody is for their self or trying to get their stats and make it to the league. Nothing crazy just a subtle jab at UK.
If you can find the whole interview it’s in this interview but I can’t find anything but short clips which is what I saw to begin with.

I don't think his deal is massive but probably double what he was getting here last year,, 800k tops.. Why do people think Perry is someone who "needs" post college UK clout? His dad is the Director of Pharmacy at a local hospital and his mother is a Family Practice Dr (both UK grads). The Perry's are wealthy, Travis is intelligent and will likely follow his parents into the medical field (he almost transferred to Vanderbilt because of this). I've known his Dad my whole life. They let Travis make his own decision on where he wanted to go. He isn't planning on playing pro anywhere after college from what his Dad says. Ole Miss offered considerably more NIL and a promise of more playing time than he would see at UK this year, and offered his sister a scholarship as well. I dislike that he left UK, but I understand and hold no ill will. He's a kid who wasn't good enough to be here, he tried, but he knew he wasn't UK rotation talent, and wanted to chase a dream to play high level division one basketball somewhere else. Good luck to him. But he doesn't need "former UK 15th bench man" on his resume to somehow land a post college job.
Beard also thought Devin Askew was destined for greatness at Texas.

I knew what you were talking about. Properly invested, his NIL will mean he never has to work again unless he wants to work. Plus he was going to be a glorified walk on here. Actually getting to play might be important for him. Barring injuries, he was never going to see meaningful playing time at UK. He’ll also still be able to get most of those same jobs later on.

Why didn’t Pope win more at BYU when they were in the MWC?BYU was only in the BIG12 one year under Pope, they were a chump program and have invested a ton of money into basketball the last 2 years, last year and this year due to being in a major conference. The more you know!

Most of you don't know anything about the kid. He won't need a UK background for "any job he wants" (e.g. selling cars somewhere). He's plenty smart and will do just fine without the UK basketball pedigree. His mom is an M.D. and I think pops is a pharmacist. He'll be just fine without UK.

I did? Pretty sure I provided you a laundry list. 2 E8's, a NC runner up. AP coach of the year. 2x Big 12 coach of the year. Sun Belt COY. Won the Sun Belt tournament and went 30-5 in his 1st season. His teams have made the NCAA tournament 8 of his 10 seasons. And those were all rebuild jobs he was hired for.

It's not about that. This is the only place in the world where Perry is known and somewhat famous. It's a long term thing you can't get anywhere else. It's why WCS and others move back here. It has a ton of perks and it's a lifestyle for life that is really special. He won't have any of that, and it matters. He's just too young to see it, and his family obviously doesn't understand it, or they don't care themselves.
