Just an FYI and a couple of facts to chew on for all the people on this board wanting to get rid of our winning basketball coach. Have a little bit of perspective or reality.<div>
</div><div>1. We lost under that piece of **** Croom's regime for 4 out of 5 years in FOOTBALL (a much bigger money maker) before letting him go.</div><div>
</div><div>2. We are Mississippi State. If Auburn will let Lebo languish forever, do you really think MSU is going to fire the most successful coach in the history of the program one year after going to the NCAAT or even (gasp at the thought of not going for 2 years) 2 years after going to the NCAAT. Further, while it is looking extremely unlikely that we'll make the dance this year, maybe you ought to let the season play out.</div><div>
</div><div>3. We are probably still paying off that piece of **** Croom's contract as well as giving Mullen a raise before long. Do you really think Byrne will fire another coach and add to that load. He has a consistently winning basketball team on a Dollar General budget. I doubt that we're going be replacing that when you look at the $$$. Byrne may be a Ninja, but he can't make dollar bills appear out of thin air.</div><div>
</div><div>Like or hate Stansbury (the coach of the third most successful basketball team in the SEC over his tenure), those are the facts. </div>

With regards to #1: Croom worked for Byrne one (1) season before he was let go. It's a new ballgame in town.

#2: No one really thinks Byrne is going fire Stansbury, but he should sure as **** demand some staff changes. And I'll think we'll make them.

#3: No, we're not. It was a one time payment. Veazey even blogged about the filings that our AD had to make with regards to the top 5 compensated employees to the IRS or someone. Croom got his annual salary plus another ~3mm or so as a buyout in the last fiscal year.

So, considering all the "Facts" that you speak of, you're more or less off base.
