I heard that Pete Boone may have a little "Wimp Sanderson-itis" problem going on in the offices of Ole Miss. If this has been floated out allready, I apologize. Seems some females in his office are taking issue with his "employment practices".

Supposedly, there's some legal brewing going on in the a.d. offices. My Nafoom contact said it's trying to be hushed up, but rumors are allready getting out. I haven't checked Nafoom yet to see if it's being discussed.

As much as something like this would create some bad pub, anything that gets ole Pete out of office would be a good thing in my opinion.

I look at him as only maybe a half step above LT, if that, when it comes to being an AD. The sooner he's gone, and the sooner we hire someone that actually has a sports management type background, the better.

...sure he bungled the hire of Orgeron, but he seems to have made up for it by hiring Nutt. Your facilities are greatly improved across the board (with the exception of Tad Smith). And your IPF is the envy of the Chinese government. He sent Rod packing and found Andy Kennedy. Baseball's never been better. What more do you guys expect (from a viewpoint of the outside looking in)?

I guess it's just stories I've heard. Both Kennedy and Nutt are not very fond of him. I realize Kennedy may likely leave us at some point, but I think that process will be sped up by Boone's presence. It's just an overall way he handles things, especially with our coaches and alums. Then you throw in the fact that he's a PR nightmare almost everytime he makes a statement, and it's enough that I wish we had someone else.

Much like LT, he doesn't seem to understand the money side of things as well as he should. Rather than taking a Byrne type approach and looking for ways to create more money for the athetlic department, he focuses more on cutting costs. He doesn't seem to grasp the concept of spending money to make money. Most of his actions are reactionary rather than proactive. Yes, we've got some good projects going on, but the baseball facility is behind schedule due to the fact that it wasn't planned well. And I still think he had his hand forced on the basketball facility.

Also, he tends to take a narrow-minded approach to fundraising. He focuses almost solely on the big fish, while focusing very little effort on trying to get your average Joe fan involved. Granted, most of your money comes from the big fish, but you can make a lot of headway with $100, $500, and $1000 donations from the majority of your alums, if you'll just make a little effort. That approach also manifests itself in the way he treats your average Joe alum. He treats the "cap and T-shirt crowd" (his words) like they are of less importance to the university. You get the feeling that he believes everything would be just fine if only the 100 wealthiest alums were allowed to come to football games each week.

Seriously though, I do give him credit for his recent coaching hires. In all honesty, I don't know that we've ever had a trifecta of coaches that were as solid combined as what we have today in the big 3 sports. He did well to ensure we kept Bianco a couple years ago when LSU came calling. He did well to hire Kennedy, though he needed a search firm for that, and he did well to hire Nutt so quickly this past year.

Still, I think we can do much better in the way we handle fundraising and also in the way the AD handles the coaches.

I really get the feeling that Kennedy and Nutt will both leave because of Boone unless he's gone in the somewhat near future. They both may leave at some point anyway, but if Boone sticks around, he'll be a big part of the reason why they leave if they do.

and pulled the trigger on ceo (as well as dropping the axe on erickson when he showed up sick hungover for his interview). I think he gets a lot of criticism for stuff that khyatt actually tells him to do.
