Subject: Saturday Stadium Issues

Dear Football Season Ticket Holder,

This football season was obviously a very difficult one for Rebel fans and as an administration, we expect our teams to be successful on and off the field. In addition to holding these high standards for our student-athletes, we believe that our gameday and stadium experience must be first class. This past Saturday night, we failed to deliver on that unspoken promise and that is my responsibility. I'd like to apologize. We are in the process of gathering all information related to the audio and concessions issues, and more importantly, putting a process in place that prevents something like that from happening again. With only 7 home games each year, it's imperative that our technology and concessions work perfectly for those events. Thank you for your continued support of the Rebels and I assure you that we will use Saturday's shortcomings to improve and deliver the best possible product in 2011.

Kindly,

Pete Boone
Director of Athletics

At the end, he apologized for having to postpone the halftime fireworks because it was too dark outside.

Remembering back a few years when Cal students would sabotage the Stanford scoreboard (or was it vice versa) and make it do crazy stuff. There wasn't a lot you could do with a plain old digital scoreboard but you could run crazy/offensive messages across the banner on the bottom, change the score, modify your opponent's name on there, etc.

Any chance we had somebody get in and screw this up for them?

Nobody's taken credit. Except Pete.

was the cause of the "*** cups"? Because I have never seen, heard, or smelled anything like that before.

Or whatever they were. I don't see what was so hard about just getting plastic cups with the pictures printed on them like we have now. Those probably saved LT a few bucks.

Man that was funny..I just died out laughing. I remember those "*** cups." As someone told me and I think it could be true, they were made out of recycled plastic. I dunno how they could smell that bad, but damn...they were awful!
