and that is why he was looking around at other jobs...he wanted to keep the OOC schedule with 4 patsies

Just heard him on the Brando Show. They are as scared of us as we are of them apparently

no wonder given all the fired (Mullened) coaches as a result of losing to us

To me it seems like more of a control thing than a scared thing

Gundy says that its a bad idea to play us and gets told "that's just the way it is, deal with it", and then he decides maybe he would like to go somewhere where he gets more of a say in things like scheduling.

The Big12 only plays 3 OOC games, not 4 . They have 9 conference games and all played each other this year. If they play us ,that only leaves 2 patsies on the schedule

Well, playing Kansas makes it a 4th patsy

I can see why he's pissed- they played 7-5 Arizona this season and got drummed.

Interesting if that is the way it played out at OSU. I feel quite certain Scott went to Dan with the proposal and asked if he wanted to play OSU. If Dan had said no it would have ended right there. While it's true the AD makes the football schedule, it's done with the complete buy-in of the head football coach.

Funny how all that "it's great for recruiting" stuff doesn't apply...

..to this game. If this game was happening 5 years ago, both MSU & OSU would be telling everybody how this match-up is great for MSU & OSU recruiting. But fast forward to 2012 & everybody is pointing fingers, bad-mouthing & whining about the fact the game was ever scheduled. I keep wondering why this game will not be good for recruiting, while if played in previous years it would have been packaged as a recruiting eureka.

I personally think it's great for recruiting

One of the first national TV games of the season
Gets us out in Houston where there is tons of talent
Gives us a chance to spit in the Big 12's face

Actually, it's better for OSU's recruiting...

..both Oklahoma schools recruit heavily in Texas. In all seriousness, this game is great for OSU's recruiting. For MSU, it is national TV exposure if nothing else. I agree it's a game that's good for recruiting. What I can't figure out is why nobody is saying this. Instead, people from both sides are complaining about the fact the game was scheduled in the first place.

Im glad we are playing this game. Its time to play A nonconferencere season game vs a BCS school. We haven't in 3 seasons.

The game is practically a home game for Ok State. We sold out.

Stillwater is only 60 miles closer to Houston than Starkville is...60 miles difference

And it's practically a home game for them? 500 miles away?

Nevermind that the game is played in Brewster's recruiting wheelhouse where he has the most connections, and also one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. It's no accident that we are playing TWO games in Texas next year...

Bingo. Plus I'd dare say a huge percentage of MSU fans would come from Jackson, which is closer to Houston.

The stadium will be split 50/50 or very close to it.

How do you know? Sounds like Gundy didn't sign off on his end. Or if he did, it was with a gun to his head.

Because Stricklin has been quoted as saying we will play our OOC BCS opponent in a bowl game.

I think it went down like this.

UAB wanted out of contact.
ESPN approached about playing OK State.
Stricklin asks Mullen does he want to do it.
2 million is offered.
We all agree.

And I still think its a horrible decision.

All I ever get are the viewing party invites to Roswell.

I live in Roswell and I don't go to those. I've been to a few of them, but not in the last few years. I'm 33 and I was the youngest by a large stretch....kinda hard to relate. I know the woman who is the current pres of the local group, I used to work for her husband. She's great and they're making an effort to improve, but our presence in this city absolutely sucks compared to practically every other school in the south. Fortunately, we are sending a lot more kids to State from this area than we ever have before. 4 or 5 years ago, it was like 50. This year, it was a couple hundred.

If you want to get on a list for the better events, send me a PM and I'll get your info to the right person.

How much does the School net from the Gator Bowl?

$1,125,000 + expenses

The total payout is $3.5mil for the SEC school, but the additional goes into the total pot which is divided equally among all 14 schools.

Word…

If Atlanta is #2, then 90% are OTP. I hate duochey divisions like this, but there may need to be an ITP, and OTP alumni groups in Atlanta. I want to, but I haven't and I won't drive to Coldbrews in Roswell. Granted, I'm usually at the games. But not in basketball season.

If you're just looking to watch games together, I think there's a "young alumni" group here that probably congregates in town somewhere. Of course, I haven't seen an email from that group in a while. Maybe they phased me out when I turned 30. Fact is, we really need people to buy plates and show up when our coaches and AD come to town for events, not just get together for viewing parties.
