His cousin had just committed to Washington as a QB as well. Seems to be a lot of his family there.

It's obvious that Sirmon has no intention of being here long-term but he hasn't been remotely good enough to actually leave.

This 3-4 path seems to be a slippery slope to me. But I'd sure love to have Nate Woody running it rather than Sirmon at this point. I'll give him next year I suppose.

If Mullen has any sense, he hasn't been good enough to stay.

There is more to the story about them not living in Starkville & in my opinion (whatever that is worth) it is a solid reason that is best not discussed on message boards. Additionally the family was in Nashville during Sirmon's NFL career, so they are comfortable there.

I do agree that Sirmon has maybe next year to produce dramatically different results or he should be replaced.

He's Rich Brown 2.0.

Considering how all the Mullen detractors hated Rich, this shouldn't be a big loss.

You're saying they live in Nashville? I thought is was Birmingham.

Nashville. Kids go to Brentwood. Probably has a house from his playing days for the Titans.

I wish there was more family up there...

Hope he gets things turned around. Still think we could desperately use a co-d coordinator and get this thing moving in the right direction, but I suspect you are right and we are stuck with him for another year.

5 DCs in 6 years or whatever it is. Can't exactly blame sirmon for not bringing his family down and making a home.

Willie Gay - that's the linebacker we need to sign.[/QUOTE
We are in the growing pains of a 3-4 defense. If you really want to run it properly it takes 2 or so years to implement. One line backer won't alleviate those growing pains much although he would be a very nice get.

The fact that Sirmon never moved his family to Starkville tells me that he has absolutely no investment in MSU. His coaching pretty much shows that. He doesn't deserve a second year at State. I would fire him if I was in charge.

I don't know anything but if I had guess why his family wasn't in Starkville I would it has all to do with wife/mama and her daughters and competition cheer. Probably don't have teams "good" enough in Mississippi for her babies and Don't mess with cheerleader mom she will cut you

Cheerleading?? cheerleading?? In high school?? If Starkville, Ms. isn't good enough for Mrs. Peter, then Mr. Peter needs to move along.**

If I remember correctly I read an article about jr and he mentioned he didn't like being so far away from daddy. So I figured it was Ms Sirmon. I have seen tweets about both daughters and their competitive cheer which is a whole different thing than high school cheerleading.
