Louisville is gonna be good. Petrino is a great coach

He'll have to add some recruiters to his staff. Clint Hurtt is already there and with the show cause penalty, will likely stay.

If Petrino could somehow land a guy like Orgeron, UofL could do a lot of damage in the ACC.

Wow. Heck of a gamble in my mind....

Rehiring a guy who's last three stops (before WKU) including his first stint at Louisville, were marred by his grossly unethical behavior. What makes them think this time is going to be any different? I would think his dubious history would be fertile ground for rival recruiters.

I agree. But I guess they think at this stage he is probably done moving around. I wouldn't want him.

Yo, you NEVER rehire somebody that left you for a better job, no matter how good they are. It just shows they will leave you again in the near future.

Speaking of buy outs, WKU is due about $1.5 MM from Uof L. Considering WKU has only paid Petrino about $1MM since he arrived, they got a pretty good deal for the 8 wins Petrino had in his one year.

Also, IF Ole Miss (Bjork), South Florida (Taggert) and UofL (Petrino) live up to their ends of the bargains, WKU is going to have some attractive home games in the future. Or a nice little windfall if those schools decide to buy their way out.

i guess we wont have to worry about kentucky crawling out of the cellar any time soon as far as in-state and regional recruiting is concerned.

Currently 12th in Rivals national recruiting rankings for 2014.

While you will rarely hear good recruiter and Bobby Petrino in the same sentence, he is one of the best in the business at developing QB's, building an offense around talent (which Strong left in place) and play calling.

Not so much a gamble. You know what you are getting. A slight PR hit in exchange for almost guaranteed wins. More of a sacrifice.

I'm assuming you're basing this comment on his history of winning. However, if history is any guide, his relationship with Louisville will end horribly for Louisville.
