After season is over maybe. They might be season early due to Lamar Jackson. Dont think Bobby leaves until he graduated

This is interesting. Petrino possibly has the best football player in college on his team and be has him for a minimum of one more year. However, Petrino could leave this year and coach a team that has some of the most talented players in the country at its disposal every year. He's likely not going to land a much better job in the future, but does he leave the possible Heisman trophy winner to his predecessor?

I think Bobby Petrino is all about Bobby Petrino. Not sure he will give a second thought to how his departure impacts those around him.

It will be after season if he goes.

I can agree with that. That's what makes it so hard for me to decide. He has a golden ticket right now with Jackson. He can ride him for 1-2 more years and can possibly do some great things. As it is now he has to basically win two games a year to go to the playoffs. Does he trade that in for what is likely a better long term team or does he stick with only needing to win a few games and having less pressure?

I tend to agree. I think Ricky might serve as a reminder that a bird in the hand is worth two away from Camelot.

He will Take a power SEC job but it will be after season. I think if he wants it better take it after season cause all the others will be locked up next year. UF,BAMA,UGA ETC..,If he waits that door will closr. I Bet LSU will tbrow everything at him and bet 100 that the talks have all ready begun behind closed doors. If he wins title at UL he goes and Brohm replaces him. Meanwhile down the road at Lexington We are still trying to put a 6 W season together as Cards keep rolling on the gridiron.

Well, LSU could get Herman and then Auburn could hold out for one more year and grab Petrino. Then Petrino gets to stick with Jackson until he leaves and gets to head to the SEC. However, Auburn snubbed him once, he may return the favor.

I think he stays. He's in a position to take over the ACC for the foreseeable future. Unless it comes down to the bottom dollar

I say it LSU or no one he stays at UL. Dont think he will even look at auburn. It would be interesting though. 2 of the top coachs in the game in same state fighting over same recruits. Could you imagine that rival SABAN vs Petrino in the IRON BOWL!! Talk about intensity!

LSU would really be perfect for Petrino. He has never proven to be the best recruiter in terms of rankings, but he makes the best of his players. He could go to LSU and most of the players he will recruit will be from Louisiana and will come to LSU with little to no recruiting effort. He could get top 10 talent with little effort and put it into a big time offense. Deadly.

Wait a sec. When Bob P. was available for UK to hire, several on here told us the SEC had/has a blackball out on Bobby the Mean Guy. I guess that has been or will be lifted for LSU, Auburn, etc.
Rumor has been that auburn did black ball him last time. However, he's a winner again and that typically fixes all of the other crap and justifies them making a move.

He can be a stones tbrow from a top ten class year in year out. Hell he wouldnt even need a jet. He could drive around get a top 10 class.

Well thinks to the Botch job Mitch did!
If you're implying that Mitch botched the Petrino hire for UK, it was one of the best decisions Mitch has ever made! We don't need Petrino and his baggage, and I personally don't want him! I want to win as much as anybody, but winning is not important to me to bring him in as our head coach.

To be fair, I think if Petrino leaves Louisville with things looking this good for him then he would have also left UK. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have improved us much more than Stoops has, but that he might have only been here a short time as well.

Herman will end up at LSU/Auburn/Texas/USC. I say Bobby P stays put but could bounce. Herman is going to get PAID this off season. Rumor has it UT boosters already want Charlie Strong to fail to make the change. Either way, the coaching landscape is about to change in the near future. Meanwhile, we get Stoops.

Auburn better hope he has better luck against Saban than he did at Arkansas if he ends up there.

Man, all thover big name schools and big name coaches shuffling around is insane. If I'm Herman I'd think Texas would be perfect. Stay near where you are and keep that recruiting base with an even bigger budget.

Absolutely with a stacked Roster and up and coming coaches like Herman saying hey that Kentucky job is looking pretty dang good. Top 10 in cou try 45,000,000$ dumped into it.

Which is why I think he won't go to LSU. As a destination, U of L ain't LSU by a long shot. But at U of L, he isn't in the same division with Alabama.
His recruiting would be eay better in probably top 3 areas in nation. Like I said he could stay within 100 miles of campus and dial in a top 10 class year in year out. Plus he will accept all the stud rejects that get in trouble still.
