Petrino will not leave UL as long as Jackson is there. He is UL's ticket to the BCS playoffs and Bobby isn't going to miss that opportunity. After Jackson leaves next season, he has Jawon Pass next in line, so who knows what he will do then.

If Petrino were to leave he'd take Pass with him.

He gone after this season I bet talks have started and contracts are being thought up. THE SEC blackball was to keep him from UK. Mitch bought it hook line and sinker. If he woukd be leaving from us that would be fine. He woukd of made us a top 10 program and up and comers would be looking at a stacked Roster and new facilities that are too 10 in nation. It would of been win win for us. Even if he came and left. We would be set.

Petrino to LSU. Write it down
LOL! Here is yet another false, groundless rumor being started on this board. Jurich signed Petrino away from WKU at a time when Petrino didn't have a lot of negotiating leverage. Petrino's contract with UL makes it very difficult for him to leave anytime soon. LSU will go hard after Jimbo Fisher. Until and unless Fisher tells them no, there isn't much point in talking about anyone else.

Petrino won't leave UofL like some others have said, and I'll leave it at that.

Herman stays in the state of Texas, but moves on from Houston

Miles either takes a Coordinator job or a team just outside the contending in their conference type job.

Brohm stays at WKU a year or two more...unless UK comes calling

Briles gets the LSU job

They went hard after him last year and couldn't get him, hence Les being retained.

It isn't a rumor. It's speculation. Much like you're speculating that LSU goes after Fisher.

Imo ul is in a good position. No will be able to set enough players to compete for a conf championship and a spot in the playoffs Fla st and Clemson are his only real competition and while Clemson is perennially good they are not always a power. In my opinion. Petrine stands a better chance beating fla st occasionally at Louisville than he has chance of beating Alabama. If I were him. I would stay at Louisville until a job like southern cal. , Alabama, noter damn , fla st., or Texas opens up

I could see...

Petrino to Auburn - deep booster ties.
Herman to LSU - same geographical area he is in now but better job
Briles to Houston - alma mater
Brohm to Louisville - alma mater
Harbaugh back to NFL
Miles to Michigan

CLAY Travis was all ready saying LSU wants Bobby P and that was like over 2 weeks ago. I know not many people likes him but he is a big media guy with connects. He knows the SEC football in and out. He said LSU will try and go after him and he gave reasons why. The reasons make alot if sense as well.

I'm sure they want him, but just because they want doesn't mean they will get. I've seen reports that the two names at the top of the LSU list are Briles and Herman...I think it's Briles getting the gig.

I can agree with that. That's what makes it so hard for me to decide. He has a golden ticket right now with Jackson. He can ride him for 1-2 more years and can possibly do some great things. As it is now he has to basically win two games a year to go to the playoffs. Does he trade that in for what is likely a better long term team or does he stick with only needing to win a few games and having less pressure?
I think he knows Jackson is gone after next season. He can go to LSU and make big time money at one of the biggest football schools in the country. I think if offered, Petrino would go. He's done a great job at UL but I think there's more resources available to him at LSU.

I could see a lot of that going down. I think the crazy thing is that you've got two coaches with some clear cut ability in Petrino and Herman. Then you have Texas, Auburn, LSU, and USC who could all be vying for those coaches. Then you have Mal Zahn and Miles that both have been to national championship games as head coaches that will likely be moving as well. So, there could be some big time money thrown around at the end of the year.

I could see this also. Herman would be a perfect fit at LSU to start the ball rolling. Herman knows the talent in Houston better than anyone and it a short distance to Baton Rouge. He would fit in perfect. The Houston and East Texas area has a whole bunch of Cajuns and LSU fans who would love to see him go over there.

It is true that he has a lot more resources and it would be easier to recruit LSU. However, it's a lot more pressure and a lot more competitive in the SEC West. He has to pull off 2-3 wins against FSU and Clemson every year to get to the playoffs with Louisville. With LSU he has to beat Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, which are almost always all top 25 teams. Plus Florida is their cross division rival. That's murderers row. Now he very well could want that competition again, but I think it would be hard to leave that cushy Louisville job at this point.

I tend to agree. I think Ricky might serve as a reminder that a bird in the hand is worth two away from Camelot.
Comparing UL football to UK basketball....bad analogy.
I think he may stay. But not because is the Camelot of NCAAF.

Not comparing the universities or histories as much as I'm comparing what the situation for both of them is/was at their respective successful work sites.

UK is the pinnacle of basketball power and UL... Well, they've performed well in football and until a few years ago, in glorified high school conferences. UK is Camelot to all. UL is Camelot to Honest Bob.

If that makes any sense.

Wonder if he'll sneak behind hog heads back again and meet with them? Didn't he do that twice with Auburn and LSU? He even lied to Jurich about it. I think Forde ratted him out. All that, and Fat Boy Jurich still hired him back. LOL.

Harbaugh is not going back to the NFL.

If we scrape up 5 wins, Stoops gets next year....3 or 4 and we might have to take the $$$ hit and fire him.

I pray we can steal PJ Fleck out from under the noses of the Big Ten schools.

I think it all depends on how the season plays out. If UL makes the playoffs...... he's staying at UL because that shows him he can win a title at UL and he'll have Jackson returning. If they miss the playoffs... I think he'd bolt because if this team cant do it..........they aint doing it.

If you're implying that Mitch botched the Petrino hire for UK, it was one of the best decisions Mitch has ever made! We don't need Petrino and his baggage, and I personally don't want him! I want to win as much as anybody, but winning is not important to me to bring him in as our head coach.
i personally don't like your POV

Harbaugh

Meyer [laughing]

Saban [roll]
Must be the 5-10 record vs ranked teams that makes him elite.

Why would he leave uofl? No longer in CUSA or whatever. ACC isn't SEC but it's Power 5. All he has to deal with is Clemson and FSU. Or he can go to the SEC West, where even if you win a national title you can still get fired....

LMAO at anyone thinking that Petrino is leaving UofL for any other job. He already stated that he made a mistake leaving the first time and his family is entrenched (some remained behind after he left the first time and he always maintained a home there). He loves Louisville and loves working for Jurich. Plus, he is already very highly compensated (which will get higher) and already has a path to the NC in a P5 conference. He will coach at UofL until he decides to retire. Anything else is just wishful thinking.

The guy bolted from the Falcons (NFL) to Arkansas in the middle of the season. I will put nothing past Bobby Petrino. He will make the best move for him, anyone else be damned.

Lots of very good reasons posted here as to why BP would stay at Louisville but you just never know about the guy.

@JBHolmesfan said it best above..
