I'm hearing a lot of "Petrino to USM" stuff. Sources say he's interested. I wonder if it's just a play to get another SEC school to offer though.

Tennessee should hire Petrino for HC and Ellis Johnson for DC. How pissed would that make the Buzzards?

Even Petrino has some pride. And USM doesn't have the money. They're only going to pay their next coach about $750,000 a year. The staff will have to split about $500,000 amoungst them. Blake Anderson if he wants it.

Petrino should just sit tight. Some decent school will eventually bite the bullet and hire him. Might be next year though.

Nobody in the SEC is going to hire Petrino right now. He is too toxic. I can't even see Auburn doing it. I doubt he ends up at USM, but anything is possible

I'm starting to think Petrino's upside outweighs the negative to him right now. I think it'll be a big story during the start of his first season back but will quickly fade once teams start playing. It's not really a story that the tv announcers are going to go to great detail on during games. He 17ed up and dipped his dick and got thoroughly embarrassed with a skint up face to match but he's one hell of a good coach and he wins a lot of games to the tune of a 75-26 record. Career 75% winning coaches with over 100 games experience as HC don't exactly come easy to find. If I'm Tennessee I'm hiring this guy and I'll make sure Slive gets over it.

haha you don't know ****. you know, he may not get the job, but his resume is damn sure being examined by gogue right now. a decision is going to be made, and it isn't an easy one.

Oh I know Auburn WANTS to hire him- but they just can't pull the trigger and they know it

Cecil Hurt (The Tuscaloosa News) has said ...

AU will announce Petrino on Monday or Tuesday.

He said this on the rivals pay board, so no link.

If true, Auburn sinks to yet a new low in my eyes. Which I didn't think was possible.

Well when you factor in the impending sanctions, it does make Auburn a little different. But damn- its still hard to believe they will pull the trigger on him

Remind me never to put my money in your bank. You're backtracking already. In what? 30 minutes?

I am as surprised as anybody to see a legit press guy ...

Stick his neck out there like that. I can't believe he would do that without inside baseball at the highest level. But he's on record. At least on a rivals pay site.
