So UK would not only have to pay Stoops a $12 million dollar buyout but would also have to pay UofL about $15 million on Petrino's buyout

Matt Jones couldn't have been more clear today on his show that Petrino would have come here had Mitch even spoken to him.

If Mitch was/is hesitant to interview Petrino, he's even less likely to talk to Briles.
Maybe some of you UK fans can confirm this but I was always under the impression that Schnellenberger would have came to UK also if he had been offered before UofL made an offer.
Petrino wanted this job. No doubt about it. The fact that Mitch passed up on that opportunity should be enough for everyone to be calling for his head

It has been well documented that Cliff Hagan as AD was the worst, most egotistical poor choices for his position. He could not stand Howard's ego and demands for coaching the football program.
You probably could have had Howard when Louisville hired him, or better yet, after Oklahoma booted him, and you hired Mumme. Imagine that. Petrino will be the highest paid coach in the country, at Louisville next year, if they win it all. UK needs to get a tough guy, like Schiano.
Only way he comes here will be like a 100 million $ contract and Mitch gets canned. That opportunity was squandered hard!!
