You're probably a run of the mill Memphis guy who for some reason hates the Saints and Brees but Brees threw for 5,000 once when teams didn't throw a 100 times a game and another 2 times with the same average, mediocre WR corp. If Brady ever had the guys in addition to Welker he'd have 5,000 x3 too... it's just not as impressive.
Peyton will probably break the record next week, but he'll just never be the same as Brees to me. Peyton will go down as the best mind in football history, but Brees is the best arm in the NFL's history and that can't change by a broken record. Brady is still the better QB of the two, and somehow he won't hold any records by the time he retires.
