Stfu. I know what I meant. No taking any lumps when you know what you are saying. I'm not going to lie about what I meant to say. And it can be read both ways, but when I tell you immediately what I meant, it cannot be read both ways.

Wow you're in full ******* mode today. Don't remember you being one on the course but you are today.

Sentence can be read one way hoss.

Cawood, I hope he makes the cut and comes back to challenge but it isn't happening this year IMO(it's an opinion dude). Because he is screwed up mentally right now.....as you appear to be.

******* mode because I know what I meant. I came out immediately and said what I meant. If you can't take me telling you the truth and believing my word than yeah, F off. Maybe it was worded wrong but I made it clear what I meant and I did so early, before his round. So, of course I have a problem with someone doubting my intentions, my word.

He isn't making the cut. He is however not done for the year like you claimed and I said in an earlier post was possible.

So what's the deal with cut? I'm confused. Also, I'm just glad the dude is going to play another week. That's what he had to do. He's making very gradual steps.

So in Tiger's 14 Major Championships, the runner up has been:

Masters:
1997 - Tom Kite
2001 - David Duval
2002 - Retief Goosen
2004 - Chris DiMarco

US Open
2000 - Ernie Els/Miguel Angel Jimenez
2002 - Phil Mickelson
2008 - Rocco Mediate

British Open
2000 - Thomas Bjorn/Ernie Els
2005 - Colin Montgomerie
2006 - Chris DiMarco

PGA Championship
1999 - Sergio Garcia
2000 - Bob May
2006 - Shaun Micheel
2007 - Woody Austin

I don't think it's a stretch that there are more talented golfers now than there was 10-15 years ago. Did Tiger take advantage of a down period in regards to the overall talent around the World at the time of his prime?

It wasn't down to the point it tarnishes his accomplishments.

I'm not doubting his accomplishments, his numbers speak for themselves, and he can't help who he goes up against.

Looking at how sick the leaderboards have been for all the Majors this year led me to go back and look at just who the runner ups were when Tiger won his. I didn't look at the full leaderboards, just grabbed runners up.

Phil and VJ were pretty solid counterparts. I completely agree it's way more stocked these days which is why I've said take the under on any career major total. World wide golf is just stacked.

Right now is full of really great players 30 and under, won't argue that point.

But your list above to "prove" Tiger beat lesser competition is pretty lame. Half of the runner ups (7) won major championships of their own, and that does not include obviously great players like Garcia and Montgomerie who never won majors, but were/are stellar players.

As a footnote, Tiger lost three majors to some very forgettable players: Rich Beem, Michael Campbell and YE Yang. How in the hell did that happen?

I must say I got a little choked up too when Day was crying out there. My two favorite golfers all year has been Day and Spieth. Great sportsmanship and classy guys.

You need to look at the big picture instead of "runner up". 32 different golfers won majors from 1997-2010, inc. Tiger. That isn't a "down period".

I don't think anyone can diminish Tiger's accomplishments. He did a lot of them in record fashion.

IMO, Tiger needs a strong "mentor" right now. Someone that he is willing to listen to. However, I don't know who that would be because he seems to have gotten rid of everyone that could help him.

One answer to this question. It's Butch Harmon. And Butch would absolutely do it. Butch has an ego to match Tigers. He would love to take credit for turning Tiger around and point out how he did before he came back.

The PGA Tour is deep and talented right now. You've got to be a man to win a Major these days. Fun to watch.

True that. Even if Tiger somehow manages to right his ship and get back to playing top level golf (doubtful IMO), he still won't be able to dominate the way he did in 2000-2005. Too many guys who are 10-20 years younger than him that hit it a country mile and are not going to roll over if he plays well in a major. For another thing, his age is now against him. How many 40+ year olds ever dominated golf, or any other sport for that matter?

The record chase for 18 majors for Tiger is off, he still may win 1 or 2 but that chase is history. The Snead record however should probably go down which is not a bad consolation record. I feel that record will be harder to break than Jack's 18 majors, especially if he could put it into the 90's.

They don't count to you because they are inconvenient to your argument. Why do we refer to UK being the winningest program in college basketball? Why do we mention final fours in addition to championships?

I agree, but he already got rid of Butch once, or is it twice. Tiger has the "big head" and thinks he knows how to work his own problems out. It's not working so far.

WTF are you talking about. People celebrate Final Fours in college hoops. No one celebrates runner ups in majors.
