Until he does something other than buckle in the final rounds of a major, I'll have to go with Tiger being within 2 shots going into the weekend but then fading to lose by 5 on Sunday. The announcers mentioned something last weekend that was somewhat astonishing to me. Of the 14 majors that Tiger has won, he has never come from behind after 36 holes. So in other words, if he hasn't built a lead by the weekend, he ain't winning.
I'm with you on Mahan, though. Dude is playing great and he's got nothing to lose right now.

Tiger can't handle the pressure from being behind to come back and win... Phil used to fold like a tent, but has changed his mental game recently, I like his chances.
I hope Tiger never wins another major..
Is he a great player, yes.. One of the best ever, yes... But I just don't see him breaking the majors record.
He is just not the dominate player he was, and there are so many other really good right players on the tour now.

If he wins the PGA, he will be ahead of Jack's pace. However, fields are so deep now, I think that could be the reason he doesn't break the record, not necessarily because of his lack of dominance. Have to admit, I want to see it happen though.

You seriously think Tiger doesnt want the win just as much as anyone else in the field? He hasnt won a major in half a decade. He is asked about when he will win his next major on a daily basis by reporters. He is one of the most self driven people any of us have seen in sports.
But Phil 'wants it more'. How is that even quantified?

Funny. Phil is able to have a HORRIBLE tournament the week before a major and everyone thinks he has a great shot and that he is having an awesome year. If Tiger did that, he would suck and not have a chance. Also, if you look at the WGC tournaments their fields are quite similar to a major so Tiger winning last week says a lot more than people think.

He is having an awesome year. He goes over the pond, wins the Scottish Open. The very next week he follows that up by winning the British Open. In addition he had a legit shot at the US Open. So out of the 3 majors played so far this year, he has won one of those. He was in solid contention for a second . How is that not a great year? FYI.. I do think Tiger has a VERY good shot at the PGA. His win last week was total domination. However, to dismiss Phil at this years PGA would be absurd considering what he's done so far.

I am hardly a traditionalist, but there are just some things that I would like to see stay the same/not change.
One is what is considered acceptable golf clothing.
Nobody needs to wear knickers and tweed jackets, its not Scotland and its not 1900.
But flat bill hats?...no place on a golf course(at least in the PGA). If he wont keep himself from looking like a dbag, then the PGA should help him help himself and tell him to cut it out.
