.......you hear about except every four years at the Olympics, but this guy has been doing this year after year in other World events and he just keeps on doing amazing things.

All I can say is I PRAY Michael Phelps is doing it clean. If he is, then he has to go down as one of the greatest athletes to ever live.

you can't have a whole lot of recognition about where your fellow competitors are in relation to you in the race. I'm guessing here, but I assume you can only see the people in the lanes next to you, but other than that, you've gotta be swimming all out or you don't have a chance. Any swimmers here correct me if I'm wrong. Phelps is amazing.

Someone yesterday talked about Phelps competing in London and saying that it was very conceivable that he could win four more.

I don't know jack about swimming, but what if he goes to London and wins EIGHT more? How amazing would that be?

phelps sets a new standard every time he hits the water. with the exception of today's race he has set a new world record in each of his 6 medal finals. the 7th final today he swam in was an olympic record. we have yet to see this kind of domination anywhere. even in tiger's prime which is the past 99-now (10 years) or his best years 99-02 he didn't set course records in literally every tournament he played. phelps does.

Says he would whip Phelps in the pool (in a race) right now.......(remember Phelps has never had any competition)

Also there are apparently a lot of kids out there (who didnt have the chance) that could easily beat phelps in the water.......right now

the amount of world records he has is insane. They have said it is insane how he can race different strokes one after another with sometimes 30 minutes between the two. He is hands down the greatest Olympic athlete ever.
