Phillies decline options on Oswalt and Lidge

They could still sign both of them for less, but as of now they are on the market. I don't imagine either will have a hard time finding a job.

Oswalt could go be the fourth or fifth starter in St Louis. He could go be the fourth or fifth in Texas. He could be maybe the third or fourth in New York, though I don't think he wants to go there. Or he could go to Wrigley and start Opening Day.

Lohse and Westbrook will make $10MM and $8MM respectively next year. The Cardinals can't afford to pay that kind of money for middle relievers. <div>

It seems a home is ready to be built south of Starkville under the cleared pines. I heard that will be his family home and now his retirement place it seems.
