They could still sign both of them for less, but as of now they are on the market. I don't imagine either will have a hard time finding a job.

Oswalt could go be the fourth or fifth starter in St Louis. He could go be the fourth or fifth in Texas. He could be maybe the third or fourth in New York, though I don't think he wants to go there. Or he could go to Wrigley and start Opening Day.

They are going to get Wainwright back from injury next year, and they are going to let Edwin Jackson go.

That said, I would love to move Lohse and Westbrook to the bullpen as a long relief guys and bring in Oswalt as the fourth starter. Lohse and Westbrook are biding time until Shelby Miller and Carlos Martinez are ready. Lance Lynn will be in the discussion as well.

I would love to land Oswalt.

to do. He's tired of taking shots in his back and the wear and tear on his body. And he's rich beyond his wildest dreams. Hell, can you blame him?

Of course, he's also a competitor, so I look for him to sign with someone for...one...more....year.

Lohse and Westbrook will make $10MM and $8MM respectively next year. The Cardinals can't afford to pay that kind of money for middle relievers. <div>

that he was going to retire after year ten a few years ago. He just finished year eleven. I think he could end up being the Brett Favre of MLB in terms of leaving. Hopefully it will be more low key.

It seems a home is ready to be built south of Starkville under the cleared pines. I heard that will be his family home and now his retirement place it seems. No need to say where since it is his business to let people know.If true we are glad to have him andhis family as part of the community. Only heard this from one source.
