Funny story about the 2nd clip. Saw an interview with the cast. The director asked Jon Gries if he could hit Jon Heder with the ball. Gries had played a little low minors baseball so he said yeah I think I can. He nailed him first take. Efren Ramirez was supposed to stay in the scene longer but had to duck out because he was laughing so hard.
There is just so much perfection in that scene. Everything is just magical.Funny story about the 2nd clip. Saw an interview with the cast. I mean, they are just sitting on front porch steps - not even at a table - eating steak and absolutely nothing else. That shirt that Uncle Rico is wearing, my God, what even is it? And he just grabs the steak off the other dude’s plate while he’s cutting it, and bítch slings it at two dudes riding a single bicycle and smokes one of them in the face.
None of it makes any sense it at all, but it just works.
With that throwing motion, I find it very hard to believe Gries played any sport, much less baseball. Maybe he was doing it for laughs, but it's so accurate to the way some people throw I thought it was real.Funny story about the 2nd clip. Saw an interview with the cast. He made me cut it off lol
Great movie.
To bring this full circle, I sat down to watch TV with my son while he was watching YouTube videos. After a few minutes I told him had lost all tv privileges because he was choosing to watch the dumbest stuff.I remember watching this with my father whenever it hit DVD.

I wasn't ever the biggest Rivers fan, but it really has been nice to be able to switch over from the current college football $hitshow to a story like this. I'm a Niners fan so I surely wasn't pulling for him, but I also wasn't mad to see him toss a couple TDs. The whole story of a 44 year old returning to the Pros, and his entire family being there to cheer him on is straight out of the movies.Giving false hope to all dudes over 40 who think they still have it to go out and play.

His body definitely isn’t in game day shape and I think they’ve already said that. I don’t know what the future holds for him as far as playing goes, but if he holds up and continues to progress with the next couple of games it kind of makes you wonder what some off season conditioning would do for him.I didn't watch but a few minute of the game, but it looked like Rivers had a bit of a muffin top - a paunch.
