Has any team ever won a game while being dominated in time of possesion like the Colts have been tonight? The game isn't over and the Dolphins may still win, but I find it amazing that a team can be dominated in the time of possession category like the Colts have been tonight and still have the lead with only 3 minutes to go. This game has been very interesting to say the least.

the Chiefs had the ball for 38 minutes to the Raiders 21 and lost.

BTW, did you hear that stat? That was the smallest amount of time a team has had the ball and won the game.

I think we've seen teams hold the ball for just 20 minutes or 25 minutes and win. That isn't common, but I wouldn't call it rare. However, the 'phins held the ball more than 3 times longer than the Colts. THAT, is wild.

If you have a quick strike offense, it's not uncommon to lose time of possession but still dominate a game.

I think we lost time of possession to SELA in a 46 point win, so I know it's not a very meaningful stat.

However, that's still sick to have the ball for less than 1 quarter and still win. I'd be curious to know how often a team has fewer than 15 minutes of possession period. Obviously they say a team has never done that and won, but I'd bet it's rare that a team has the ball for that little time in any game.

as a model of modern football. It no longers matters if you have a dominating running game. The Dolphins had 400 yards and way over 200 yards rushing. So what? Its about spreading the field and getting players in space now. Its about scoring
