I think they will win, and in my opinion they are a program that is the most on the rise in the state.

I don't know a whole lot about Jones County other than there are a lot of pine trees there, but I'm guessing everyone in Laurel is moving out there to West Jones district.

For that to happen the county would have to have a large influx of new residents. I just don't think that will happen. They have basically drawn from families that have moved there from Laurel and other surrounding areas in recent years. Those that will move probably already have, especially from Laurel.

Tomorrow and then again in the south state title game. The Mustang defense is beyond sick. They've probably scored more points than they've given up this season (if they haven't it's damn close). Both teams have great offenses (Picayune has scored more points because West Jones has totally shut down in the 2nd quarter in a lot of blowout games). But Picayune's defense is very mediocre. No way they hold the Mustang offense down.</p>

and the population growth in Jones County right now is moving in the South Jones direction. Look for South Jones to move up to 5A (and maybe Laurel as well) next year. But West Jones will be 5A for the foreseeable future.

I used to play for south jones (with Donald Ray King ) and all 3 county schools were about the same in enrollement ... South had the largest geographical area while West & East were somewhat limited ... just dont see any of the county schools moving upward unless it would be SJ

Hot women, crazed idiots, stories that you would swear are beyond belief that are actually true and the uncanny ability to run into someone from Jones County or someone that knows someone from Jones County anywhere in the world.

Did I mention that something is in the water that leads to hot women????

I went and watched Franklinton High play Salmen out of Slidell last night, with Franklinton winning 35-28. I personally think both of those teams would best either West or Picayune by at least 3 touchdowns. Both of those teams had so much speed it was sick. Salmen's QB ran one touchdown for 95 yards. Josh Robinson, State committment, is a bigger version of Noel Devine. He made alot of people miss and lowered his shoulder to punish other tacklers.

A lot of folks working in the Hattiesburg area live in the South Jones district. I don't know if they will be 5A next year or three years from now but it will happen. Laurel being 5A wouldn't surprise me either. I think they were one of the larger 4A schools in the last round of redistricting. NE Jones is going to be solidly in 4A for several years.

Laurel and South Jones are the 2 largest 4A schools in the state (not sure which is larger) and with the growth in the South Jones area there's no way they won't move up in the next round of redistricting. I could see Laurel staying down at 4A though. It would be really good for West Jones (and Wayne County too) if one or both of those move up to 5A.

eons ago, the male-female ratio was about 10-1.
At JCJC, where I spent the first 2 years, I think it was about 5-8.
And there was the hottieness factor you mentioned.
Talk about culture shock
