Hurts picking against your own team. Will WVU find a 4th win? Will WVU be double digit underdogs the rest of the season.

I have resisted the temptation in the past, but when it came to OU this year I had to...and this week is a tough go too...we'll all happily be wrong I imagine, except for 3x, he'll be laughing all the way...LGM!

Well, we saw two undefeated teams go down this week in Appy St. and SMU. The SMU/Memphis game was truly prime-time worthy as were a few others. From the points picked for the WVU/Baylor game it looks like a shoot-out was expected. @torontoeers came closest with 50 points picked vs. the 31 total points actually scored; no where near the shoot-out expected or perhaps the expectation was 47-3.

I got a little excited tallying the results this morning when I got to @countryroads89 and the first 4 picks, including GA Southern over Appy - only one to make that pick, were correct. Then Nebraska bit him in the ***; no sweep again this week. So, congrats go to @FallingRun84 for his 14 of 17 correct picks leading the week. Here's the tally:

PLAYER NAME--CORRECT WEEK #10--CORRECTYTD--YTD/WIN %

Thanks for compiling Ex-Pat...it takes time to get all these numbers together I know...
Side note, vacation plans for Mid Nov last minute. I've got a week with the lovely wife and the idea is (booking likely tomorrow), 3 n Nashville on Music Row, will attend the Vandy/Kentucky game Sat afternoon, seeing as I have always wanted to visit that historic intimate stadium. Then off to the barrier islands of Georgia for 3 n, then a night in Savannah and up through NC for a night on route to Motown for WVU/Okie St....life is good yes indeed. Have you ventured down to barrier islands area or have a recommend for a town on route from there to Motown on a stopover midway? Thanks.

I go to N'Ville frequently; I like to stay at Marriott and there is a Courtyard about two blocks from Broadway and about a block from the Ryman. Even if you don't like country music the Ryman tour is worth your time. Also there is a Marriott hotel in an area called The Gultch, hotel just opened last year. Very near the brewery scene in N'Ville; good beers.

Not much for the islands except for Tybee Island off Savannah. Place called the Crab Shack right as you go from Savannah to Tybee, a must stop for seafood. Also, if you are near St. Mary's or Amelia Island there is an old hotel near the water in St. Mary's with a pub called Seagle's Saloon run by a big old gal called Cindy Dean the Porno Queen. Please stop in and tell her Hi from the TinFish, she'll know what you mean and maybe be a little bit nicer to you than she would normally be; she's a tough gal, but really a sweetheart.

River Street in Savannah is the place to be, bars and restaurants and such. Take a tour of the mansions in town, especially the Mercer House, once owned by Johnny Mercer but now is more well known as the house set around the book and movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". See the cemetery in town where Mercer is buried along with other famous locals.

On your way back to Morgantown it is worth your time to stop in Lewisburg and stay at the General Lewis Inn; old historic hotel on the main drag and walking distance to everything in town. Good restaurants, shops and other fun stuff. You will be just down the road from The Greenbrier and, unless you want to spend big bucks for a room, at least go there and have lunch. Wife and I did that, 2 sandwiches and a couple of glasses of wine was $100.00! But it's worth a stop.

If you have the time I'd stop in Marlinton just to look around, it's at the bottom of the mountain where Snowshoe Ski Resort is located. Also on your way through Slaty Fork jog over to Webster Springs to look around. Back in the days when ESPN didn't have much programming they used to broadcast the Stihl Chainsaw Lumberjack Championships from downtown Webster Springs.

From there it is an easy drive over to Muddlety to pick up Route 19 North and I-79 North back into Northern WV. If you have time stop in at Weston and tour the Insane Asylum. It is a Victorian era building that used to be the state mental hospital. Closed now but they do tours.

Don't know what your timing might be but on your way north there are 2 good restaurants in Clarksburg/Bridgeport. Most well known is the Wonderbar Restaurant, great steaks. The other lesser known is actually in Nutter Fort, a suburb-ish, and is the restaurant at the Greenbrier Motel. Owned by and Italian family and maybe the best food off the beaten path in the area.

Obviously you know Morgantown, but if you have never been go to the original Mario's Fishbowl on Richwood Ave. I almost flunked out of WVU there. That and Crockett's Lodge in Star City.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Sound like a great trip!

A waypoint between Savannah and Lewisburg might be either Grennville, SC or Asheville, NC. Both have a vibrant downtown scene and very walkable. Park your car and walk around downtown and take it in.
