Loudoun County's athletics website says game with Independence is canceled. Independence website has no future games on schedule. And Broad Run's schedule says the Independence game next week is canceled. Otherwise, total internet silence on the situation.

Lake Taylor game is canceled and will not be made up. Phoebus game with Gloucester though not on list is a key game in this area snd is also canceled. Phoebus right now unless they get a replacement game next week (4/2), is done for the regular season. Do all teams qualify regardless of number of games played? Looks like in this area 3-5 games will be the norm with only a few at the scheduled 6.

I haven't heard anything about minimum games. Noted this multiple times but Cox played 1 basketball game & was the top seed in Class 5, Reg A.

Every region at every level sets their minimum number of games. Region 3B set it at 3 games.
As you say, it a Regional decision. As are all other criteria. Most regions are using the VHSL point scale to determine who makes the playoffs, but I think there are a few that are using some other method.

I don't have a strong opinion, but I wonder how fair it is to exclude a school because they could not play X number of games? If they lost games because of covid protocol, should they lose the right? But, the flip side, if a team has been judicious, and avoided covid quarantines, is it fair that they miss the playoffs because a school that only played one or two games out pointed them?

Boy, what a year!!!

We almost had the possibility of a 3 way tie, with all 3 teams playing the same opponents, so identical power points, and they could have fallen 3rd,4th and 5th in region. Draw straws for 1 team missing out. But 1 of the teams lost a game to covid, so unless they reschedule a team with same number of wins as the team they lost, we can't have the 3 way tie.

Indy gets what they want. Could be eliminated from the playoffs with potentially two losses against Loudoun County and Broad Run. Instead they are able to “COVID” their way into the playoffs.

Yeah, I was already counting them as the 2 seed. I was talking about the three NWD teams ending at 4-1 with the same opponents because they had no out of district games. But then George Mason lost their game with William Monroe.
