Mike with the gutsy Martinsville over GW pick. I’m leaning the same way. That RB Martinsville has is probably the best player in the district.
I'm probably gonna get that one wrong, but if Martinsville is ever going to beat GW, this just might be the year. After picking Cave Spring over Pulaski I guess I felt emboldened to take another shot.
I didn’t realize Martinsville beat Glenvar. I love my Eagles but I believe the Dawgs and Bassett may be the best teams in Southside this year and it may not be close. GW had trouble with Amherst’s running game and I believe they’ll struggle with Jones. Kid won the FFE player of the week last week.
An FYI for the pickers: Poquoson’s top RB is out now for the season. Broke ankle in last game against New Kent, Also top RB for York is out for awhile with sprained ankle against last game shsibdt Grafton. This may affect your picks.
When I made the early Martinsville pick I figured I was way out on a limb by myself. It looks like the limb got really full. Martinsville is being picked 3-1 over GW, never thought I'd see that.
Martinsville is legit. Though Coach Martin didn’t win the state championship, we view him in Danville as Salem fans view Mags. He’s coached in some huge games, he’s old school and does things the right way. I’m happy for them. Been a long time since Martinsville has been relevant in football.
