Pickering (kicker) assigned Rivals rating

I wonder why they bothered since they obviously know nothing about kickers. If you look at the kicker position they have only rated a handful and none more than three stars. But this is not new. Same thing happens every year. They would be more honest if they just excluded kickers and punters from their evaluations and individual team rankings.
I don't understand why Rivals (or another ranking site) doesn't just put this kicking guru on the payroll and use his rankings? Is it more complicated than that??
You are 100% correct. this is one of those crazy blind spots. The NFL has started using draft picks for kickers, but it was called rare not all that long ago. IMO, they were nuts for a game changing position, but they did get away with it.
