Looks like the capacity will be much larger than their current setup. Might be the biggest one in the majors in fact.

It's actually going to be about 8/9k smaller than there current stadium. Sweet looking development to go along with the ballpark too. Going to be a VERY nice area. I see this ending very well for the Braves.

The only thing is that there is nothing iconic about this ballpark... Nothing that makes it special. I'm sure it'll be nice, but suburban developments are not iconic... The gateway arch, roberto Clemente bridge, or the San Francisco Bay, the green Monster, an Ivy wall, or even simply a spectacular outfield like Kauffman are all icons of great ballparks. I hope Atlanta does something similar to set this one apart and not just make it a "nice" stadium. "Nice" is going to wear off after a few years.

I heard they're going to bring back Chief Noc-A-Homa's tepee in the new stadium. There's nothing more iconic than that.

That is what this will be. I know I'm jaded since I have a house in East Atlanta very close to the TED. But I also have a lot of experience with development in the Atlanta area. At best this will be like Lindbergh or Brookhaven Station with a Stadium. Set in an area of Cobb County currently populated with outdated strip malls, terrible traffic, and wig shops. I'm sure it'll be nice but it won't be Iconic by any means.

At least you won't have to travel through the slums anymore like the current one. Will probably have better parking and easier access from the highway too.

good for them, but just as in our case, i think its pie in the sky

apparently, watercolor is the medium of fantasy, although, the baylor reno is going kinda closely to what they initially proposed via watercolor....well, kinda anyway:

pretty amazing what they are doing. for those interested, here is a pretty recent photo site that has quality pictures:

it looks nice, but mclane stadium will kinda look like a toilet bowl from the air....oh well, cant make everybody happy.

I can name a bunch of NFL teams that won't have as nice a stadium as Baylor when that thing is finished. Oakland, Minnesota, and Buffalo come immediately to mind.
