For God's sake, show a little anger. Five times he kind of defended the committee by saying they had a tough job. Two T's in 30 years, Never gets on a kid during a game. Ohio State loss - " The officials have a difficult job. Everyone makes mistakes." Tired of it.
Tend to agree . There is such a thing as too nice.

Would you rather have Fran McCaffery? Not me. Whiny, ***** boy. Just win baby.
No, he shouldn't be an *******, of course, but as far as rather having Fran McCaffery, well, he is probably a better coach, and last I looked he was winning baby. And no one whines more than Izzo. Would you rather have him?

That's obviously not my general point.
What does getting mad accomplish? Is it supposed to help them in the future? Because Buzz Williams threw a tantrum after getting left out last year and they got screwed with their seeding this year.

Pikes not a whiner. I'd rather have him take action on things in his control which is what he should be doing.

He’s probably more upset at himself for thinking he would be able to coach up the bench he put together

Or often failing to coach the team up when they lead by 5 points

Or you should probably put some pressure on the ball in the MINN game

Or the coach a team that consistently loses 2-3 games a year they should have no business losing

As long as recruiting stays where it is we will be fine, but maybe him, and some of us posters, realize too many mistakes put us on the bubble anyway

It’s a matter of style; but I for one would love to see him vent a little bit and show some anger. It’s the same thing with his dealing with the refs during a game. A little bit of Fran McCaff or Izzo anger would be a welcome reaction from Steve once in a while.

As much as I hate to say it, we did this to ourselves. How we going to lose to Temple and Seton Hall? Lose to Minnesota?

We brought on Derek too late. Could’ve at least looked better losing to a hot Nebraska team or an average Michigan team at home.

Pike doesn’t need to nor want to bring any further attention to himself.

There’s a lot of blame to go around for us not making dance and Pike and Staff were a big part of the reason per the below:

- Lack of team depth after Mag injury. Too many wasted recruits on roster

- Took team too long to play well after Mag injury.

- Took way too long to transition reins to Derek Simpson

- Lack of effective coaching at end of Minnesota game which was the nail to the coffin.

Love Pike but above issues were meaningful.

No reason to tick them off. Texas A&M did that last year to nth degree and look what happened - punished this year with a 7 instead of a 5

Not starting Derek way sooner, constantly struggling to even get the ball inbounds, and the way the last minute was handled vs. Minnesota all were criminal.

Seton Hall is so bad that they were selected by the NIT and just kicked the crap out of Providence by 25 a week ago and Providence is in. It’s not Lafayette. We were down two veteran starters and starting a freshman PG against a Temple team that beat Houston and lost by 6. Nebraska was 9-11 in the Big Ten. Yes, Minnesota was a bad loss. It was also on the road on a buzzer beater. Iowa had injuries and lost to the #335 ranked team or something. I mean come on.

there's a HUGE difference in ticking them off vs. making apologies FOR them. we got punished THIS year... It's crazy how far out of his way to not saw anything that would potentially upset folks. I still say it costs us in games with too many questionable fouls that are followed up by questionable fouls.
If I'm playing for him I feel like he didn't even believe in us to stand up A BIT for us.

And for you folks who think asking for a bit more emotion and anger/annoyance is suggesting Bobby Knight or Fran. level antics you're of course taking it too far to shout the feelings shared by more than a few down.

Frankly I would have preferred him say nothing than say this stuff.

Every coach is different. I realize that playing the victim card may be in style these days but Pike seems about accountability and calming the room rather than anger and blame.

Our bench sucks because Pike is nice?
I know what your saying and about depth you are 100% right in my book. And I don't see practices ...but maybe our bench would suck just a little less if he crawled up a couple of guys a$$es a bit more.

Pike doesn't need to be a reflection of you and you're flaws. He's done pretty well for himself being Pike.

Thanks for recapping that. I didn't think we were allowed to say these things just yet.

Also, when Rutgers is on 78/83 bracket matrix brackets and doesn't get in, that sort of means the committee is wrong. If 78/83 people who are trying to predict what you will do based on your published criteria think you will do one thing and you do a different thing, perhaps you're not following your published criteria very well.

Thank you for proving my point. You like to act out and want Pike to embody you.

We have consistently won games during his tenure that we had no business winning as well. The 19 point comeback against PSU comes to mind
