I think they need to do a head count. It could be ugly.Realistically, both have older rosters so expect a lot of kids to sit out on both sides. Klubnik, for example is getting ready for the draft as are several of his teammates. For PSU, well you guys know the mess. I expect no Dani, Vega, no backs, no Hudson, Ross or Pena, no Harris or Wheatley at a minimum plus portal guys moving on.
ToiletMaybe they can rename it the "Backup Bowl" ?
They both were once nice, now they're shift holes. He’d really hate shitholes like Paris and London I bet.
Other than the CFP, the majority are “Backup Bowls”. They should have a tournament…Maybe they can rename it the "Backup Bowl" ?
An NIT like playoff would be better but guys still are going opt outOther than the CFP, the majority are “Backup Bowls”. They should have a tournament…
Yankee Stadium in late December? They’ll close the roof for this one, right?
We will have most of our best players opt out. We will not have any running backs with playing experience. Our best offensive linemen will opt out. Our 2 best defensive linemen will opt out. Our best DBs will opt out. The only way this will be a decent game is if most of the best Clemson players opt out too. If so, then it will become like a JV game.Would be a great game if both teams were at full strength.
That's not really fair to Terey--a lot of these guys should be opting out--Allen, Singleton, etc.I guess we’ll see how much the players loved Terry. Will the older guys play for him or opt out?
Bowl season should just be considered preseason for next year.We will have most of our best players opt out. We will not have any running backs with playing experience. Our best offensive linemen will opt out. Our 2 best defensive linemen will opt out. Our best DBs will opt out. The only way this will be a decent game is if most of the best Clemson players opt out too. If so, then it will become like a JV game.
My understanding was Pitt as the other optionWhat are 2 possible opponents in article? Clemson and?
I guess it's admirable but it was also unnecessary and way too risky.I recall Saquon Barkey not opting out of the Fiesta Bowl. IIRC, he only played in the first half but still, he didn't want to totally bail on his team. The eventual overall #2 draft pick playing in a bowl game. You have to admire that. This year we'll have some guys who may not even get drafted decide to sit out.
Maybe Dabo should be less selfish and encourage his players to do what is best for them not what's best for himDabo usually gets his kids to play in the bowl game. Hopefully ours don't quit
What a bunch of p ussiesI see Iowa State has opted out of playing in a bowl game.
That's a hefty fine coming their way from the Big XIII see Iowa State has opted out of playing in a bowl game.
That might mean Campbell is bringing with him a large chunk of their coaching staff to State College immediately.I see Iowa State has opted out of playing in a bowl game.
Turn that frown upside down. It's extra football. All non-playoff postseason games are "meaningless" exhibitions. If everyone you list opts out, we get to see players we haven't had the opportunity to see play much. What would you be doing, if not watching this game? Saving the world, one depressing post at a time?We will have most of our best players opt out. We will not have any running backs with playing experience. Our best offensive linemen will opt out. Our 2 best defensive linemen will opt out. Our best DBs will opt out. The only way this will be a decent game is if most of the best Clemson players opt out too. If so, then it will become like a JV game.
That's a hefty fine coming their way from the Big XII
The team had a meeting and claimed that they didn't have enough players to safely prepare for and participate in a bowl game. May or may not be true but in this age of mass portaling the conferences need to amend their penalty assessments. That's a hefty fine coming their way from the Big XII
It's still money that the conference is losing and it hurts their relationship with the bowls for tie ins.The team had a meeting and claimed that they didn't have enough players to safely prepare for and participate in a bowl game. May or may not be true but in this age of mass portaling the conferences need to amend their penalty assessments.
That’s only a quarter of the buyout PSU is paying ISU. So they’re probably like whatever.Iowa State and Kansas State were fined 500k for declining bowl bids...actually though it'd be more. Almost every program should do that
You’re most likely correct, but I will still watch the game. This is no longer the same sport I grew up watching, it’s morphed into a business which is why I pray for the NFL to establish a minor football league. We will have most of our best players opt out. We will not have any running backs with playing experience. Our best offensive linemen will opt out. Our 2 best defensive linemen will opt out. Our best DBs will opt out. Actually, Barkley played 4 quarters in the Fiesta Bowl.I recall Saquon Barkey not opting out of the Fiesta Bowl. IIRC, he only played in the first half but still, he didn't want to totally bail on his team. The eventual overall #2 draft pick playing in a bowl game. You have to admire that. I've attended or watched on TV every Penn State football game since 1966. I will watch this bowl game too. I'm addicted. You’re most likely correct, but I will still watch the game.
