We will have most of our best players opt out. We will not have any running backs with playing experience. Our best offensive linemen will opt out. Our 2 best defensive linemen will opt out. Our best DBs will opt out. The only way this will be a decent game is if most of the best Clemson players opt out too. If so, then it will become like a JV game.
It's starting. Zane Durant just opted out. Outside of the CFP games, why to we still have bowl games?

It makes me laugh a little. PSU had the 70th rated run defense and got slashed up front a number of times this year (including Rutgers). If anyone needed to bolster their resume, it's the DL. I wish the kid luck...

And playing in a bowl game in our defensive scheme with our LBs is going to help him?
He's a late day 2/early day 3 pick heading into the combine/pro day--nothing will change until those 2 events.

QueenLoado the insufferable blowhard strikes again.

He needs to do HIS job for the LB to help him.

Who says he's not?
Again, a bowl game doesn't help him--he wisely opted out--as should everyone entering the draft. A bowl game won't have any impact on their status.

Every bit of game day tape helps. Stop being and insufferable fool. Everyone knows your position on bowl games. No need to repeat yourself over and over again like a disabled person.

There's a ton of film. A scrimmage against Clemson isn't changing that.
When people stop criticizing players for opting out I won't need to respond to this type of nonsense.
Enjoy the game-stop pretending it benefits anyone graduating or transferring to play
Selfishly, you want them to play--it has nothing to do with what is best for them. He decided what was best for him--thank him for his time here and be an adult.

You can’t have a discussion with him. He has been bashing bowls for many years and won’t change. Just like Beau, singleton, Paterno etc. same story everyday.
You keep saying Singleton--the only "negative" things I've said about him was "Allen should be RB1" and "he doesn't have Allen's vision". I wanted him on the field--he's a great RB2 and should have been featured in the pass game. Also, as a returner. He just wasn't our best back.
Bowl games are what the are
Our fan base is what creates any criticism of Beau--oh, and he still hasn't owned up to leaving because it was best for him--the NCAA didn't force him to do anything.
Paterno is one of the greatest coaches ever just not the GOAT--he also stayed too long. Not sure why that's even an argument.
If I've been doing it for year get it right

Actually this is good: We begin to see who is who with regard to next year. This gives someone else a great opportunity to impress the incoming coaching staff. The extra practices are also a positive. And we also get to see which guys decide to play and stay for next season.

Correct he has a ton of tape...one game doesn't alter it.

LOL.... Do you buy a product based on its performance two years ago, or how the product performed recently.

I swear, you are disabled. Repeat yourself some more. Please.

Yeah, NFL scouts are going to ignore the 2025 season (which isn't years ago) and evaluate him on the film against Clemson
That's brilliant--that's how someone would get fired
The best part is, if you don't think his film is great you then magically believe all the flaws he may have will no longer be on screen--impressive. Your desperation is impressive.

So you genuinely believe they are going to rate him on his performance two years ago... BWAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Remember, NFL scouts took Aaron Maybin, Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Heath Schuler..... in the first round....

You are retarded. Seriously. LoadoRetardido.... lol..

Put him on ignore. Your board experience will exponentially improve. He is either neurodivergent (God bless him if he is) or just a troll. Not worth engaging.

Neurodivergent? I had to look that up. You might be on to something.

Maybe one day he will realize it?

I think he's actually struggling on this board compared to his past on the other site: He has far fewer posters paying attention to him here. This board is almost a polar opposite to the old Rivals board in that the vast majority on this board are lifelong hardcore Penn State people. The other board had a lot more population of casual fans who didn't identify his purpose. This board fully realizes he is not actually a Penn State fan or even a Penn State acquaintance: He harbors an intense hatred for Penn State which causes him to dedicate all his time and effort in the cause of trolling the fan base of one singular team....just think about that for a moment and then realize just how psychologically ill this individual is.

I don't hate him, I feel sympathy for him.

Exactly. That’s how I look at it. I want to see some of the guys we haven’t seen yet. It’s game experience for them. I really don’t care about the W. Would I like to win, absolutely. If they lose, but we get a look at some young guys, so be it.

I've attended or watched on TV every Penn State football game since 1966. I will watch this bowl game too. I'm addicted.
Lemonears, you're singing my song. I'm so pathetically addicted that I used to record every single televised game (bought a VCR in 1979) and watch them in the 8-month off-season.

Now that's not so many games as it might seem, for I have lived in San Antonio, TX; hence, I only saw national telecasts of Penn State games.

I have attended every Penn State game played in the Lone Star state since 1964, except for the nightmare Bowl against Houston in 2012. No Joe Paterno-coached squad ever lost a game in Texas during his career as HC.

Well, I guess Gilliam will be the starter opposite Ford. Blanding was playing a little better the few games. We should see true Freshman Randy Adirika get some DT reps.

It's going to be interesting how Matt constructs this defense next year: I wonder if every one of these undersized defensive tackles are immediately kicked over to the DE position and in comes 3 or 4 330 pound DTs to play the middle... And those are very hard to find....

I wonder if Tavian Branch DT who ended up signing with VT will reconsider PSU? He is a bid bodied young man whom the staff could work with.

He's troubled. That much is for sure. Poor guy. Imagine how his coworkers feel at 5 PM... Has to be total relief.

They are very hard to find in the portal and the idiot who he is replacing didn't have a single one in the roster. I wonder if they run a 4-3 like he ran at Toledo at least for this year while they recruit players needed for this.
