Cool. Always wanted to see us wear those again. That should be the only all-white uniform we wear.

This mannequin would not have qualified academically to be the baseball mannequin under Polk.

Just joking. Really. Joking.

HELL YES!

What's the only thing better than being 16-0? Being 16-0 wearing pinstripes.

I like the 1985 retro uniforms that we wear as well.

Fri- Maroon retro top
Sat- Pinstripes.
Sunday- White retro top.

Yeah. The 85 retro uniforms we wear look a lot better than the originals did. All the redeeming qualities of that uniform without the pullover shirts.

Except for the stupid stripe down the front that goes around the neck. Always hated that thing in any baseball uniform. It's ugly as hell and makes no sense at all.

I'm focused on the gray uni w/ maroon script Mississippi State.

Someone find the team pic from the 2007 CWS. We wore them for that.

I actually lliked those uniforms.... At least the "State" in that specific script. Not necessarily the maroon and gray armpit part.

I definitely like that part of that uniform. Those should be our grays, minus the stupid stripe down the front.

We had a grey sleeveless pinstripe in the late 90s that I thought was sharp.

The 07 uniforms were the epitome of awful. Russell Athletic can burn in hell for the crappy uniforms that they delivered us in that era, in all sports.

This. I don't know what we were trying to accomplish during that era as far as color patterns. Most of our uniforms looked like circus clown outfits; I'm a painfully traditional/conservative guy, though. Our baseball uniforms are one thing that we should just leave the heck alone.

I agree with every word of that. Especially the burning.

Obviously none of you were around for the golden age of MSU baseball. Those are NOT 'the' uniform. Take away the pinstripes and you have 'the' MSU uniform. Hate to use Polk as the model, but it's all I found. Pat McMahon brought the pinstripes. They are in no way an MSU tradition.

Edited to add another pic:

Obviously you were never around for the real Golden Era of 1979 - 1990. And for the record, the pinstripes are a huge improvement over that uniform.

Absolute nonsense.

Of course, this is obviously a matter of opinion. We already wear the 80s era unis, which has already been discussed here in this thread. My personal golden age was 1988-1998. Setting attendance records left and right, kids could climb on the dugouts and get autographs, etc. Doesn't get any better than back then for MSU baseball in my opinion, except of course, to win a national championship.

Anyone who watched MSU baseball during that era realizes that the white unis with MS are and will forever be the best. That's back when we were building the tradition. **** changed when McMahon came along, then Polk/LT completely ****** it up after that.

I hate the black jerseys too. MSU baseball is one sport where we really can embrace tradition and not do the flashy bullcrap that we do in football.

4 CWS teams in 12 years + 3 other regional finalists (equivalent to a super regional). No other era even comes close to that level of success except 1997 - 2001 (2 CWS, 1 super regional, + 1 regional host that we lost).

OK so I could say 1985-1997 if I wanted, who cares? White unis are still the best. At any rate, the early 90s were the most fun for MSU baseball. It was a state-wide deal.

If you say so. We only won 1 NCAA regional game in 4 years from 1993 - 1996, and didn't even make it to a regional 2 of those years. But if you like mediocre baseball, then I guess you can claim those as the glory years.

ETA: We won 45+ games 7 times from 1979 - 1990. We haven't won that many even once since.

Polk is like WTF am I wearing?

Y'all are ridiculous. Give me these babies ALL DAY! Said nobody. Ever. Anywhere.

It looks like Russell Athletic was inspired by a jersey you might pick up at your local truck stop. Thanks LT.

I'll say this about Polk- he saved our traditional baseball hat. LT wanted to use one with the M-State logo on it.

My only input is who is pushing the MS outline on unis? Adidas or the university? I love our state but its outline does not lend itself well to uniforms. Just wish they would take it off especially on these.

Completely disagree. Now if we were in Kansas or some other square state, I'd feel differently but I love it.

And during some of those years, the AD produced player baseball cards. My son still has a bunch autographed by the players. Another great idea squashed by the NCAA mafia.

Those were some great years years.

I think the player cards stopped because the NCAA made a rule that you couldn't produce player cards. Stupid.
