Don't read too much into his three hit game. An infield hit, a hit with a hit and run called (which is impressive but wasn't hit hard), and a hit with the infield in that would be routine if they weren't in.

He's had a nice couple of games but is it worth platooning our best on-base guy? Hell no.

Pirtle was always a solid SOLID defensive sub option late in games. Now it appears we can let him hit some too but is it worth not having Detz Norris or Porter in the lineup? That's the question and to me I want all 3 in the lineup. If Porter or Norris slumps then okay give Pirt some starts but right now we need to maximize runs scored.

Agree that being a switch is huge,

but you have to have Detz in the lineup. No way around that one.

This^ is why you still don't start Pirtle. If you had no Detz on the team, then sure, Pirtle wins over Frost, Pirtle, and Britton, I guess...but you DO have Detz, so none of the other 3 should play. Had we lost today by 1 or 2 runs and Detz never picked up a bat, my head would have exploded.

We HAVE GOT to have Detz, Porter, and Norris in the lineup together in order to have the best offensive success.

SS Frazier
CF Bradford
2B Detz
RF Renfroe
1B Rea
DH Porter
C Slauter
3B Norris
LF Henderson/Robson

There is only 1 hitter in this lineup that would be considered "weaker", and that is whoever the LF is. But sometimes those guys are even solid. We have to have the above group in the lineup in every single SEC game to give ourselves the best chance at scoring runs. Change the order around if you want, but there is no other group of players that should start a SEC game for us.

Get Woodruff's head back in the game, and we are suddenly back among the elite.
