He is literally a 17in idiot! He's always been horrible, he actually did an OK job this year with given all of the injuries, but WHAT IN THE 17 are you thinking not having Kimbrel in after Puig gets on? Hell, he should have been in to start the 8th. You get Puig, Uribe, and shoemacker out. Kimbrel get's to face 8, 9, and Crawford. What a 17in joke Gonzalez!!!

The dodgers go all out to win by pitching kershaw on 3 days rest. We wouldn't even pitch our best for an extra inning

And if he brought Kimbrel in for 6 outs and lost the game he'd get heat for it as well. Kimbrel hasn't gone 2 innings all year. Carpenter has been good. **** happens. Dodgers are the better team.

You go out with your best. Fredi was planning on bringing Kimbrel in the 8th anyway to get 4 outs. What's 2 more outs? 10 pitches or so? It's the playoffs, win or go home. You've got to dig deeper and give extra. Even Bobby Cox, who was the most by the book manager ever, would bring his closer in for 2 innings in the playoffs. Kimbrel is the best closer in MLB, and he didn't even get to pitch in the elimination game.

That is why I was not the least bit upset when they lost last night. The only thing that pissed me off was that it was midnight and I had to get up at 5:30 for work. I saw the last K, nodded in affirmation that nothing has changed, and turned the TV off. Then I realized that with the Falcons losing again too my weekends were now a lot freer. I did not have to worry about baseball anymore and I may or may not watch any more NFL games this year. I'll watch MSU on Saturdays and go from cussing mad to exuberant celebration and then back to cussing all in a span of 15 minutes.

Not to mention if the corners were playing lines then Puig's ball would have been an easy ground out. that's basic coaching, just like bringing in your best with the game on the line!

This game like most every braves game fredi does stupid things. In the top of the 8th with 2 runners on fredi let Elliot Johnson hit then promptly replaced him defensively in the bottom of the inning.

It's debatable what the best move would have been. Obviously in hindsight, Carpenter didnt work out well. But Fredie bringing in a guy whose ERA is only slightly higher than Kimbrel's and expecting him to be able to get 2 outs is not some idiot move like many are making it out to be.

The bad move wasn't bringing carpenter in. It was leaving carpenter in once puig reached. Carpenter pitched in games 2 and 4 in the 8th inning = 3 run and 2 run hr

Exactly.

The Dodgers were the better team. They have been, by a long shot, since July. I said it then and some (in this thread) suggested otherwise. Well, it's obvious now.

Yeah it was so obvious. If ck comes in that game, there's a game 5 in Atlanta. Funny you speak up once it's over...
