Except PJ was NOT "kicked off the team" at unx. Stop with the revisionist history bs. The highway menace was given multiple 2nd chances despite being way too cozy with drugs , drug dealing , guns and impermissible benefits in the form of cash , high-end mouthguards and rental cars. Nevermind his relationships with scumbag alums (Iceberg) , a runner (Rodney Blackstock) and a felon (Fats) with multiple convictions on his rap sheet. At the end , unx got the best result they coulda hoped for. Their team APR (already dangerously close to UConn territory) wasn't negatively impacted because Roy strung 'im along and kept 'im in school. They were also spared anymore NCAA probing. True , it cost 'em some under-the-table hush-money to PJ but unx has no qualms paying whatever it takes in CYA. Besides , PJ came much cheaper than lawyers and a PR firm.

Alright let's try this. Let's say this happened at Duke. The gun, the speeding, the driving without a license, the rental car, fats, the slugging of a high school player. Everything the same. And just for the sake of having a name and not to imply that this young man has the same type of character and integrity as PJ which there is no comparison at all. The only thing similar are they are both the same size. Let's say it for instant it is Matt Jones. Sorry Matt I and everyone else knows there is no way you could get yourself into the situation PJ did and still does. Now let's say Matt's mom comes out with the same story PJ's mom has done. What would you imajercho think of this story ad what would be your take on it? Would think that really the NCAA would lead Matt and his mom into thinking he would be reinstated when it was Duke and Coach K that dismissed him from the team and it was Duke and Coach K that had the keys to reinstate him. You know what I think. I believe that PJ's mom feels that her son is entitled and has been ever since it became obvious that he was a very good basketball player and kept being entitled on through the AAU years and once he became a Tar Heel that entitlement came full force. Whatever answer you give me I will put it in the bank because I know you will not do a spin on it. My sincere apologies to Matt Jones and his mother. OFC
If a Duke player acted similar to PJ it would be on the cover of NYT, Newsweek, NY Post & every website. Remember the lacrosse fiasco! UNC really caught a break with hoops program in decline & no one paying attention to this nationally.

Who in their right mind would pay even $1 for this story?

Just a money grab. The 750 is nuthin' compared to what she's received to NOT tell her story. Even though she promised not to bash Roy/unx tptb probably decided better to err on the side of caution. Pay 'er to forget the whole thing and have it go away quietly. #carolinaway

PJ is halfway to his own 30 for 30. Once he gets picked up for a Felton-esque felony, or a Feltony, he will be in prison. I don't wish it on the guy, but he's proven to be dumber than a box of rocks. He's going to hang out with the wrong guys on the wrong night and end up doing something worse than driving like an idiot or riding dirty.

I'm afraid you're right, FTB. It's a damn shame to throw away such talent, and the opportunities it brings.
