the word was that he'd get an offer if we missed out on someone left..

Any idea who's offer he got? That DE out of Texas?

Think he's gonna play LB though..

but probably won't have a chance on offense. He is about 6'2"-6'3" I think. Needs to put on some weight though, but is a good athlete. He was told he would have a scholarship earlier this year if he would commit then, but didn't. My guess is we'll offer again if we don't get others we want. I believe he has an offer from Memphis, and UM asked him to walk on.

And yes, his dad is Jeff Noblin who played db at UM.

you, if that kid is anything like his Dad, sign him up. His dad was All State in Football, Basketball, and Track at Jackson Prep. He played QB in high school, but they moved him to safety at Ole Miss and he fit that position like a glove. Would love to see him come to State, but I thought his Dad had deepOle Miss roots.

I'd love to see him walk on at Ole Miss, because he has such great GWH potential for the Spirit crowd. If he plays safety, even as a walk on, with a dad that used to play for Ole Miss, he'll be off the charts with his GWH status. It'll be Noblin and Andrew Ritter side by side battling it out. It could be epic, so I'm hoping you don't get him. You understand I'm sure.

and I still like to tell him the story of my first year playingLittle League baseball in Jackson. I was playing left field when Jeff Noblincame up to bat and hit a toweringblast of a home run that was still rising as it crackled through the pine trees 50 feet behind the fence. It's one of those memories that will stick with me forever.

Incidentally, one of my teammates (Kyle Gordon) set a new record for HR's in a season that year and went on to play 1B for Ole Miss.

Back on topic: If Sam hassome of his dad's athletic ability, then let's sign him up.

That guy could juke better than Tony Dorsett. And his baseball talentwas even better. I played against Jeff from 7th grade until we both graduated and he was one tough dude to play against, especially in Basketball. Very focused and gave it all. Looks like his son didn't fall far from the tree.</p>
