It's pretty obvious that the coaches most in message board land want are the likes of Patterson, Petersen, and Kelly. I'm on that wagon, but let's say it doesn't work out. What are feasible Plan B's? Especially if the $2M+ salary rumor turns out to be a myth.

I heard Bud Foster's name tossed around earlier today. What about hiring him at HC and then bring in an innovative offensive guy from the lower ranks, like a Hudspeth from UNA? I know some have mentioned Hudspeth as HC, but that guy needs to pay his dues in a DI OC spot before making the jump to HC at that level. Would pair up nicely with an experienced DC.

I don't know alot about Foster other than his defenses are always near the top statistically, plus, fun to watch. So, what's been keeping programs from hiring him on as head coach? Must be something...

I'm not suggesting this is what we should do and I'm not suggesting that we can't land a Petersen - so save the "it's fans like you why we are stuck in mediocracy" accusations. Just curious as to what the masses think regardin other potential hires if the high-profile prospects don't work out.</p>

i feel like the coordinators that are hired are just as important as the head coach hire (Tenn. believes this as well)
