He seems to score pretty good seats on a semi-regular basis.

I liked the DNA experiment using saliva and a two-liter Coke bottle. Very cool.

one of my cousins about 20 years ago worked for the Chicago PD. He got put in jail for helping the mob. I know I shouldn't be proud of that but I think that is awesome. I might go visit him.

1. Cubs game, obviously. Sluggers afterwards for skee ball and batting cages.
2. Giordano's for deep dish, or Gino's, or UNO, or Due... I like them all. Giordano's is my favorite
3. Portillo's for a Chicago hot dog - just get it with everything, get herded through the line, find a seat and enjoy
4. Wendella river architecture tour - probably the coolest thing we did
5. Art museum is free after 5 on Thursdays and there's a photography exhibit by a guy that took a bunch of pictures in Jackson, the Delta, and Memphis
6. Millenium Park - we ate breakfast at a place called Yolk before we walked around. Awesome.
7. Buckingham fountain
8. If you can get to a place called the Southport Grocery, get the bread pudding pancakes
9. Science and Industry - always a great way to spend a day indoors.
10. Didn't make the aquarium, but I hear it's pretty cool
11. Sky Deck at the Sears (Willis) Tower. Frightening, but really damn cool.
12. Cave in and let your wife drag you up and down Michigan for a while.
13. We caught the Second City 50th anniversary show. It was great.
14. I/0 Theatre has $5 late shows. Pure improv. Don't take any kids.
15. We didn't make it to Blue Man or any other show, but I bet it would actually be pretty cool.
16. Navy Pier is pretty dull to me, but the Ferris Wheel does give you some good views.
17. Lincoln Park Zoo is free all the time. It's decent, and if it's a cool day, would be a good walk.

I did not eat at the Billy Goat, but I always get the Pot Roast at Charlies Ale House.

You can get plenty of tickets on stubhub for less than face value. Depending on when you are coming I may have tickets to games as well that you can have for free if I'm not going.<div>
</div><div>Icouldn'teven sell my cubs/white sox tickets for the opening day of their series for face value. That's how bad they suck.</div>

Also, if you stay downtown be sure and ride the elevated trains at least once. This is a neat experience in itself.
Absolutley agree with the pie and the museum

The Field Museum and The SheddAquarium are both cool, and are adjacent on the north side ofSoldier Field (Location Link).

The Stuffed Deep Dish pies at Giordano's, spectacular, you just have to eat one to get it.

There is one at the NWcorner of Rush and Superior.

Ditka's serves a tasty cowboy ribeyenext tothe Tremont Hotel on Chestnut between Michigan & Rush.

If your going to a sporting event and pulling for the visiting team while wearing the gear, Good luck. 9 of every 10 fans you cross paths with will prove to you they are satan's lapdogs with a cot reserved in hell.

It's a tour that shows where all the gangsters operated and where most were killed.

Fun time. Always something we talk about when reminiscing the trip.

with too many things to do. Great neighborhoods as well (i.e. Cabrini Green--actually stay the f away from that one). Avoid the wrong neighborhoods and it's hard to not enjoy the place. Nothing wrong with the touristy stuff either. Get to a blues club, enjoy some beer, and late-at-night local fare--I had one of the "burritos as big as your head" that hit the spot at 3:00 a.m. Some high brow stuff that's enjoyable: an architecture tour of the Loop and the Art Institute has the best Monet collection outside of Paris (it's amazing and I don't particularly enjoy art museums). If you like university towns, take the L train (purple???) to Evanston and tour Northwestern. It's an incredible campus and has a nice view of Lake Michigan and right off campus is a cool pedestrian area with ethnic restaurants, bars, and shops--take a chick there an she'll be impressed enough to reward you later.

And not far away is Milwaukee, another old Midwestern city.
