If we don't then we are headed to the NIT or a 10 seed. Rick sucks, and we need a talented big man. I would rather play him to help us win more games and get to the tourney than go to the NIT. Hell, Memphis had to forfeit their final four run, but nobody cared, but with our luck the NCAA wouldn't waste much time making us forfeit games after a 10 win streak before the season was over unlike Memphis that didn't have to forfeit games until after their final four run.

From what I understand, we are free to play him it's just that we don't know what the NCAA is going to do, and if they find him guilty we have to forfeit every game he played him so *$%* you *******.

play him the rest of the way. We have already won 15 games anyway, that could get us in the NIT even if we have to forfeit 6 or 7 games that we win with Sidney. Take the risk. At this point, the season is ****.

How many times does it have to be explained that we do not have the option of playing Sidney? What the hell is wrong with you people?

Stansbury can put him out there whenever he wants. This fact has been stated by the university many times that we are choosing to sit him due to the lack ofa decision by the NCAA. He hasn't been suspended, he hasn't been declared ineligible, and he is enrolled in the university. The guy can play!! However, if he is found ineligible by the NCAA, we would have to forfeit every game he participated in. I don't understand why people still think he can't play? It's been mentioned on this board, and by the university several times.

Sidney's status is still non-certified. Don Jackson did not file the injunction to get him on the floor in the belief that MSU wouldn't play him if he did until the matter was resolved.

Stansbury can put him out there whenever he wants. Yeah, and Stans could trot Dampier out there if he wanted to; however, both situations would result in us forfeiting the game immediately. Despite your contention, Renardo has NOT been certified as eligible by the NCAA. Period.

This fact has been stated by the university many times that we are choosing to sit him due to the lack ofa decision by the NCAA. Not true. We have said that Sidney/Don Jackson obtaining a court injunction against the NCAA will not change our position on the situation. We are waiting on a decision by the NCAA because he isn't eligible until that happens.

He hasn't been suspended, he hasn't been declared ineligible, and he is enrolled in the university. The guy can play!! He hasn't been declared ineligible, but he hasn't been ruled eligible, either. On November 19 Renardo's status changed from "Non-Certified due to Non-Response" to "Under Review" The NCAA simply hasn't made a decision on his amateur status and, as a result, he isn't eligible to play.

However, if he is found ineligible by the NCAA, we would have to forfeit every game he participated in. You're confusing this situation with one where a player is deemed eligible only to have violations discovered later.

I don't understand why people still think he can't play? It's been mentioned on this board, and by the university several times.

I don't know how much more clearly any of this can be stated. I blame Hubert Davis for misstating the facts during the DePaul game for all the confusion.

Further, the idea that we should disregard the NCAA's authority on such a public scale is ridiculous.

But I did not realize he was unable to play. I thought until a decision had been made to either rule you ineligible or eligible, and you were enrolled academically in a university, that you could play, but at the risk of the person being ruled ineligible and the school having to forfeit the games that player played in.

HE HAS NOT BEEN CLEARED BY THE NCAA TO PLAY. WE CANNOT PLAY HIM. It's not a matter of choosing not to play him and risk a forfeit if he's not eventually cleared. If we tried to play him, the refs probably would not let him check into the game to begin with. And even if they did, we would forfeit the game even if he were eventually cleared because at the time we played him he was not eligible.
