I have not been on here since the game, so excuse me if this is beating a dead horse.
On the Hood tweet:
Do players really expect fans to be happy after they lose to a far inferior team? I mean, you (a good team) lost to one of the crappiest teams in division 1, and showed very minimal effort in doing so. This is not high school any more, so there are more than just your parents in the stands. We pay good money to see you perform, and thus are not pleased when you lose games that you should win by 30.
On Locke:
Yes, he was a dick for getting into a twitter fight with a college student.
On Twitter in college athletics:
Show me one positive thing that has ever happened with athletes interacting with fans and reporters on twitter. You have nothing to gain and everything to lose. Our AD should ban all twitter during the season for players. Nothing good can come from giving fans and reporters direct access to our athletes 24-7.

fans have the right to be pissed about that loss. How do you thInk the team feels? However, it's complete BS to get on twitter and talk **** to the players. Completely.

I don't know why in the hell these players want twitter accounts...its basically open game to heckle players whenever you want. Why would a player open himself up to that.

If you simply have to have a twitter account either make it private or have enough of a backbone to not respond to anyone, EVER, no matter what they say.

after a loss before fans, players or anyone else is allowed to post on internet message boards or social media. I know that is not realistic but not much good comes out of the off the cuff postings that people make when they are pissed about a loss especially one where you are a double digit home favorite. I know if I was a coach I would DEMAND my players stay off social media for a day or 2 after such a loss and I would STRONGLY recommend to them that they stay off reading fan message boards. There is nothing really positive that can come out of either.

As soon as a coach bans twitter or any other social media for his players, it will be used him in recruiting. Do you think athletes want to come to a place where the coach tries to put that much control on his team? It's not really about twitter, its more about players wanting to still get to enjoy the college experience. To us, it seems like no big deal. I guarantee it would become a issue (and used against us) in recruiting.
