So with all these blowouts in the semi's anyone who still wants more teams and/or rounds in the playoffs must need their heads examlned.
More teams just mean easier schedules to make. I don’t see the harm in lessening that pain if in either case there will be blowouts. But I do agree with you, I do need my head examined

I want my 8A open division. One true State Champion. Open to the first 32 that want in. Can you imagine Naz,MC, ESL, Phillips, Simeon... maybe PR and anyone else that wants in. On top of what was already a loaded 8A. It would be outstanding.

Expansion isn’t needed. A different calculation could help in seeding 1-32 and have a definitive home/visitor template. Semi’s are played in neutral sites and let them have at it.

Naperville Buck.

I don't like semi's played at neutral sites. It lends a chance for high seeds to never play at the opponents home during the playoffs.

You should have to win a away game at the opponents field in the playoffs to be called champions.

Huh?
I disagree, higher seed should always be home IMO.
Get a better seeding system and go 1-32.

I've said many times that I don't mind going on the road. I've been to some great school/ football sites, including McHenry, Woodstock, NC, the 2 Hinsdales and many others. One point always missed by those who believe the higher seed deserves home field is that the seeding system is totally inept.

Win a state championship in previous n years gets you an invite to the open class? Hmm.

I don't necessarily think expansion is necessary but there are plenty of 4-5 teams that would have knocked off teams in the playoffs. Marist was almost a 4-5 team. Some conference champs would struggle to win two games in other conferences. A ranking system would achieve a more competitive playoff system ala College Football but with more teams.

I agree that the seeding system is a joke.
