I think I am correct in reading this but I was wondering about a hypothetical and wanted to make sure...I will use Wilmo in my hypothetical...Let's say Wilmo and Peotone (same class and same conference) both finish a season with an 8-1 record......Wilmo beats Peotone in the head to head, but due to the non-conference schedule Peotone has more playoff points.......would Peotone still end up with a higher seed? Head to head only matters in determining the 256th team to make the playoffs right? Does that not seem a little off to anyone else beside me?

You are correct. Seems like it would be easy to switch in that case but at the same time let’s say there’s a team that is between the two in playoff points. Would you have Wilmo skip over that team too to get in front of Peotone?

This way things are cut and dry. No gerrymandering with things. We all know playoff seeding could be improved some way or another but this at least spells it out and is what it is.

I completely get it.....I was just wondering and wanting to double check!

I realize you are putting out a hypothetical, but the only way that Peotone and Wilmington could possibly both finish at 8-1 would involve Peotone winning h2h vs Wilmington.
